In this special extended episode, we have a fascinating and all-encompassing chat with parkrun COO Tom Williams. He tells us how he first became involved with parkrun, why it's become such a phenomenon and how they have only just scratched the surface in terms of its potential. We also hear about his recent trip to Japan to oversee the launch of parkrun there. Louise explains what funnel ducking is and we are all invited to a wedding themed parkrun in Norwich.

This week's special guest is Nick Rusling. Nick is the CEO of Human Race, which hosts some of the country's biggest events, including this weekend's Manchester Marathon. Nick tells us what makes Manchester so special, he shares some tips for people organising a parkrun and why parkrun is so important to him and his family. Louise gets a dressing down from Vassos and producer Patrick despite finding her niche and we receive one of our favourite emails.

This week, Louise shares with us the appeal of being a tourist, while a listener tells us about how he has recently discovered parkrun. Vassos reminds us how his daughter Mary is a parkrun record holder and producer Patrick shares his secret to another PB.

Vassos shares his experience of attending his first parkrun in Australia at the weekend, which obviously included getting lost! Louise explains why we don't promote inaugural parkruns and in an FWT first, one listener tells us about a dream she had that featured Vassos. We are joined by Eileen Jones, a regular at Fell Foot parkrun in the Lake District. She tells us about the challenges they face in that part of the country, how she combines musical theatre and tourism and why she's called Bambi!

This week we hear the second part of Vassos' excellent interview with author and historian Ian Mortimer. Louise uses her barcode for the first time in weeks, Vassos learns something new about podcasts and your niches are getting better and better.

Ian Mortimer joins Vassos and Louise this week to talk about his new book - "Why Running Matters: Lessons in life, Pain and Exhilaration - From 5K to the Marathon". Ian tells us about what made him start running, his inspiration for writing a book and why parkrun is so important to him. Producer Patrick questions Louise's time keeping abilities after breaking his PB and your niches continue to astound us.

Joining Vassos and Louise this week is Dr Andrew Boyd, who is the RCGP Clinical Priority Champion, physical activity & lifestyle. In that role he has helped set up the RCGP's parkrun partnership which sees certified ‘parkrun practices’  signpost patients and carers to parkrun. He explains the ethos behind the venture, what it aims to achieve and how beneficial it has already been. Vassos gets a little obsessed with cold showers and we receive our first parkrun joke!

Dawn Payne, the event director at Fulham Palace parkrun joins Vassos for this week's show. She tells us how she got involved setting up the event and how it's now beginning to outgrow Bishop's Park. Patrick receives plenty of advice to overcome his motivation issues and we hear a story about getting lost at a parkrun.

Producer Patrick sits in for Louise this week and asks Vassos for help as he struggles for motivation to get to parkrun. Our special guest this week is the RD at East Grinstead - Dave Worsell. Dave tells us about setting up the parkrun, the support they got from the local council and the positive relationship they have with local running clubs.

Matthew Melling, aka The Wigan Runner joins Vassos and Louise this week to share his extraordinary story. Matthew has been on a daily 5k run streak since January 1st 2017 - many of which have been at parkrun both home and abroad. Last year he raised enough money to send the local junior dodgeball team to New York to compete in the Dodgeball World Cup. Vassos throws Louise a curved ball (excuse the pun) and we get sent our first parkrun poem.
