In this episode, I speak with Valeria. She is the first freebirth after cesarean story of the podcast and this is such an inspiring listen.
I’m not going to say too much about this episode because this is one that needs to be heard from Valeria’s mouth to feel the power and emotion of how she birthed her daughter in the safety of her own home after a very unnecessary cesarean section.
Valeria was able to have a redemptive birth with her second child and didn’t fall into the trap of repeat cesareans due to medical gaslighting and trauma. Grab a comfy seat and prepare to be in awe of Valeria’s journey to birthing in her power.

In this episode, I speak with a wise Elder, Maha al Musa.
Maha is a birth pioneer, activist, mentor and educator. She’s of Palestinian/Lebanese origin, raised in Australia and has been an independent international birth educator and mentor for almost 3 decades.
Maha is the author of the award winning world first book on bellydance for birth - Dance Of The Womb - endorsed by Sheila Kitzinger, Dr. Sarah Buckley, Dr Michel Odent, and others as well as the producer of the award winning videos series of the same name.
Maha is a mother to 3 beautiful children now 14, 23 and 26. Two were born at home - both as water lotus births and her last at the age of 46. All her births brought Maha into an alignment with her roots, lineage, and experiences to become her life’s work. She was a breastfeeding advocate in worldwide media from 2012-2016. Her story of breastfeeding her daughter to 8.5 years went viral many times.
She has been guiding women and mothers to connect to their sacred womb wisdom to envisage the birth that their baby and intuition is calling for. She has travelled to many countries teaching her acclaimed, unique and inspirational EmbodyBirth Educator Certification, the last 3 years before covid in China. Now at 60, she is thrilled to offer all her wise words in one place online in this exceptional and inspiring certification training.

In this episode, I speak with Kenyata. She talks to me about not being entirely sure if she wanted to even be a mother, but after trusting in herself and doing the personal work, Kenyata listened to her inner voice, and followed where her heart wanted to lead her — Merida, Mexico.
Kenyata left the United States and travelled solo at five months pregnant to find a new home for herself and her child. Kenyata had a sense of intuition that everything would work out in her favour even if she was travelling alone for the first time out of country.
Once she settled into her home in Mexico, Kenyata was able to focus and relax into this pregnancy and then was able to start looking for a Midwife to support her during her birth experience. She found a Melanated Woman’s group in her local area, got connected to a Traditional Midwife named, Sumi and was able to have a supported and easeful birth experience surrounded by people that trusted her to do what her body was designed for.
Listen to this powerful story of a young woman choosing to tune into her intuition, trust herself and travel out of the country that she was living in to find the place that her son wanted to be born in.

In this episode, I’m speaking with Emily. She tells me of how the decision to freebirth her first baby was a gradual but very easy one to make. And with the decision to take her birth into her own hands, Emily talks about to the rift that it caused between herself and her sister. Today I’m listening to Stella speak about the powerful journey to birthing her first baby.
Stella comes from a very Medically minded family, but chose to birth her first child free of the medical system with the trust and knowing that her body was capable of navigating this experience.
After learning that it’s totally possible to have a safe and uncomplicated pregnancy journey without engaging with the medical system, Stella chose hold her autonomy throughout this pregnancy and to listen deeply to her intuition.
When getting close to the very end stages of pregnancy, Stella’s body started practicing for her birth process with mild contractions on and off for about 2 weeks. But with the trust of her intuitive voice and knowing that she didn’t need to go into the hospital, Stella chose to surrender into what her body was preparing her for — the birth of her first child.
Stella birthed a 9lb baby in the comfort of her home with her partner, her 14year old step-daughter and her aunt present as witnesses to her transformation.
I can’t think of a better experience for a 14year old girl to have a front row seat to than a gentle, loving and safe birth, free of the medical system. Get comfy and listen to Stella’s words of her amazing pregnancy and birth experience.

1 hr 3 min - 8. Meeting Myself as Goddess through 5MEO-DMT
In this episode I’m talking with Settareh. She speaks to the births of her two son’s.
Her first birth was managed by Medical Midwives and during that pregnancy, Settareh struggled with HG (hyperemesis gravidarum) — feeling nausea and throwing up multiple times a day.
Instead of having a natural and undisturbed start to this brith, Setta was directed by her Medical Midwives to use at home induction methods to start her process. The whole birthing experience was filled with chaos, fear and being berated which ultimately left Setta with trauma that she was continually gaslit for when trying to express her feelings.
In the Summer of 2020, after a transformative experience with 5MEO-DMT, Settareh was filled with peace and gratitude for everything that she had experienced. With asking to carry the experience of ceremony into her daily life, Setta soon found out that she was pregnant with her second son.
Have a listen to Setta’s journey of both of her birth experiences, including driving for 2 hours in her active birthing phase to make it to her own home. Setta was attended to by a Medical Midwife in this second, but she was able to make her request absolutely clear of what she wanted and what she didn’t want so that she would be attended to by her birth support in the way that she wanted instead of bringing this baby into the world with only herself and her 5 year old son.

1 hr 14 min - 7. Finding Strength in My Fears
Today, I’m speaking with Meghann. We talk about her journey into pregnancy at 40 years of age. She and her husband took intentional time to prepare for bringing their baby into the physical world, but even with that preparation there was the awareness for the lack of knowledge that Meghann was missing and coming to terms with the very deep programming about pregnancy and birth in our current culture.
Meghann knew what she wanted for her birth and felt that there wouldn’t be a bridge for the gap of what she wanted and what was available within systemic birth. After more research of physiologic birth and reading stories of women birthing in the early 1900’s and current births outside the medical system, Meghann was able to make her own informed decisions and feel secure in the choices that she was making within this pregnancy while working with Medical Midwives.
Meghann found a new team of women to support her in the way she had envisioned for herself and her child and by the time her baby was ready to be born, she was close to 43 weeks gestation.
I’m very grateful to have this story of a mother allowing her body and her baby to naturally start the birth process and not being pressured into an unnecessary induction for a baby being within the womb past 41 weeks. Today I’m talking with Daja. She speaks on her journey of a beautiful pregnancy experience in the height of 2020, which allowed her and her husband to turn inwards using their skills of yoga and the 8 limbs to create a sacred, connected and flowing journey. Daja then goes on to speak to the gifts of breath that she gave to her child through the practice of meditation which allowed her to create a space of ease and calmness when her daughter surprisingly emerged breech. I also want to mention, that this is the first breech birth story to be featured on the podcast and it’s so lovely that no one knew until Daja’s daughters bum started to emerge.
Daja credits the deep meditative and internal work that she did before and throughout her pregnancy journey to supporting her confidence and knowing that everything would be okay in her birth, even when her baby came into the world at 36 weeks.
This is an incredible story of how tapping into innate and internal wisdom can be the best guiding light when navigating a pregnancy that ends in a surprise breech at 36 weeks!

56 min - 5. How An Unnecessary Cesarean and A Healing Miscarriage Lead to My Freebirth
Today I’m speaking with Cielo. She speaks to me about her false positive downs syndrome diagnosis and false IUGR (Intra-uterine growth restriction) label that created a lot of anxiety within her first pregnancy journey. Cielo was switched to Obstetrics care to “monitor” the pregnancy, then at 38 weeks her OB started talking induction.
After Cielo’s waters spontaneously released and she entered into the hospital before the actual induction was due to take place, she was met with very abusive and very traumatic treatment and because of this, Cielo had a cesarean section for “failure to progress”.
Cielo then got pregnant a second time which ended in an early pregnancy release at 10 weeks. This short pregnancy allowed Cielo to close the hormonal response that was missing during her first birth and to bring closure to that first experience, free of trauma.
Cielo got pregnant once again, shortly after the pregnancy release and went on to have a wild pregnancy and birth where she was connected to and in her total power.
