Wouldn't it be great to have a voice that works just as well as it did when you were at your peak for the rest of your life? Surely you've heard many famous singers who have had major vocal problems, nodules, vocal cord ruptures and the like. These horror stories make you want to shut up in fear of the possibility of doing permanent harm to your vocal cords.
While you do need to be careful, there's no need to become overly paranoid. The most important skill you can learn is to be very much in touch with your voice and body, so you can interpret and understand the small subtle signs and signals your body send you.

Vibrato is one of those small things that has a big huge effect on the sound. But for many people, it's kind of a mystery. How do you find your vibrato, how do you control it, when do you use it, when should you not use it, what effect does it have? This episode will give you clarity about all of these questions.

You may have been working hard to get out of your comfort zone, and you may even feel like you're going pretty far already as far as expression, dynamic range, and acting goes. But the truth is that everything looks quite different to someone who's watching you or listening to you from the outside.
If you think you're doing a lot, it probably isn't showing as much on the outside as you think. So, you need to do more and go further than ever before.
Working on your confidence is an important aspect if you want to achieve new levels of excellence in your art.

We just had an awesome 10-Day Belting Challenge in my Facebook Group "Master Your Voice", during which I showed exercises and gave a lot of tips and background knowledge about healthy belting.
There have been some common issues that seem to present problems to a lot of singers, such as knowing at every point in time what register you're in - chest voice or head voice - and how to transition between the two. We answered the question what mixed voice is and how high you may be able to sing in chest voice depending on your voice type.

Do you know what voice type you are? If you've ever been in a choir, you've probably been singing one of the four basic voice types: soprano, alto, tenor, or bass.
But if you have always believed that your vocal range alone determindes our voice type, you will need to learn that there's so much more to it.
Your timbre, voice color, agility, and comfortable tessitura play an important role, as well as your expressiveness.
Most importantly, don't put yourself in a box, since voice types can change over the course of a lifetime. You may start out a soprano and morph into a mezzo as you get older.

See you on the INSIDE!
What's your unfair advantage? What sets you apart from other artists? What makes you uniquely you?
Everyone has something that no one else has, weather it be your dark, velvety voice color, your bright and clear sound quality, your heartfelt expressiveness, your vulnerability...
But are you aware of this element that makes people stand in awe of you as an artist? I can't tell you how many times I've been in the spotlight, and although I hadn't prepared and planned every little detail of my show down to the nitty gritty stuff and just usually went with the flow very spontaneously, I trusted in just being me and letting my personality shine through in a very humble way. And this is exactly what - apart from my artistry as a vocalist - has set me apart from any other artists. I just stayed vulnerable, easy going, and approachable. People love this!
There's nothing worse than the diva that is never happy with the way she is accomodated, the snobby singer who won't let anyone near them, the paranoid vocalist who - hours before the gig - can't speak a word, because their voice may get damaged.
Staying uncomplicated and humble will make people fall in love with you, and - most importantly - ask you to come back. You want to wow them not only with your level of artistry, but equally with the notion of what a great person you are inside and out.

Let's go back to the basics: posture! Since your body is your instrument, it's very important how you facilitate all parts of it to open up your breathing and resonating space while minimizing tenseness that blocks any part of your body that is involved in phonation.
Standing straight - sure, you know you shouldn't slouch over while you sing. But what about your arms, legs, hips, head, neck, jaw? If you're like every other singer, you've experienced tenseness and strain on one body part or another while you sing over longer stretches. Creating the perfect posture will give you an ideal place to start from to let your voice act freely.
