I’ve discussed Transcendental Meditation before, but now Kim is on board, and the life-changing effects have only gotten better. She describes her experience learning the process, why she didn’t buy my explanation of it — and why she understands now that it’s impossible to truly describe — and how it has affected her life, our lives as a couple, and the way we look at the world. Here’s the hard pitch episode: you need to check out Transcendental Meditation.

Aaron Alexander is a biohacking, fitness, endurance, strength, diet, flexibility, lifestyle, and sex expert. He wears a lot of hats, but I promise you: He’s the real deal in every single one of those areas. He’s the host of the Align Podcast and author of “The Align Method,” which teaches you the five principles of movement that lead to more strength and mental endurance. In this wide-ranging conversation, we talk about posture and alignment, focusing on the parts of you that nobody sees, and why “rolfing” is terrible branding but great for you. This is as delightful as it is informative and you’re sure to get a kick out of it.

Chip Conley was one of the original pioneers of the boutique hotel revolution. He created and sold the hotel chain Joie de Vivre — which started with the purchase of one run-down hotel and grew to 52 boutique hotels under him as CEO — and was so successful that he went on to advise Airbnb on how to do hospitality right, and he’s credited with being largely responsible for the huge growth Airbnb has seen over the past several years. He’s now running a company called the Modern Elder Academy where he runs sabbatical sessions around soul, community, and location. We talk about workaholism, disrupting the hospitality industry, and how it really feels to sell your business.

So many people are trying to force themselves to merge their purpose and their business. The problem is that what you want to do with your life is rarely something that people are going to be willing to pay you for. Instead, try focusing on building a business that enables you to live your purpose, whether it gives you the time, money, or location freedom to do what it is you truly want to do in life.

Darleen Santore is a pro sports mental edge coach — both on and off the court. She’s taught me some amazing life strategies that are also just plain fun — things like making sure you have a friend in every age group from 10 years old to 90 years old. She has a very different approach to coaching than you’ve ever heard about before. We walk through her life, how her upbringing led to the work she does today, how a stroke completely changed her life, and what it means to raise the bar for yourself and others.

At a recent dinner with some friends, we were talking about how we score the different areas of our life. One of the areas I scored lowest was romance. When I tried to think about why that was, of course the excuses started coming: We have a kid, I’m keeping myself constantly busy, and we are living in the middle of a lockdown. Kim and I deconstruct in real time why these excuses are holding me back and how we can get on the same page about romance.

Jonathan McAlees runs a successful, eight-figure credit card processing company, but that is not why he’s here. He’s here because he figured out how to live his dream life. This is a conversation between two old friends talking about life, dreams, and how to go after them and get them.
