David was anointed by God.
Samuel was King
He defeated Goliath because God helped David.
1 Samuel 18:12 (NKJV)
King Saul was afraid of David.
1 Samuel 20 (NKJV)
David was on the run from King Saul.
He was hiding and concealing his identity.
1 Samuel 21 (NKJV)
As David is running for his life, he comes to a city called Gath which was the city Goliath was from.
1 Samuel 22 (NKJV)
The prophet, Gad.
Once he gets settled in a cave to hide, God comes back and says for him not to stay there.
A stronghold was a place of safety in the midst of danger. Where your enemy would pursue you, but could not touch you.
What once acted as a shelter can become a place God will bring you out of.
God will hide you in the safe place, but it is not the final place.
David had to get out of the stronghold to go to the place God called him to go.
1 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV)
If God has not fulfilled His promises, then God is not done yet.
Don’t get comfortable in the cave.
God told David where he was supposed to go when he told him to leave the cave. He went to the land of Judah, which is called praise. David left the cave before King Saul was done looking for him.
Praise comes before circumstances change.
God is in control even in the absence of trouble, but the actions to praise God can come through the action of trouble.
Don’t wait until everything works out. You keep looking to God because he is still in control and still good.

Send Judah first. Send “Praise” first.
When nothing is changing in life, Praise first. Make God know that He is worthy of your praise.

David said “the Lord shall hide me”

God took David out of the cave into the secret place.
Psalm 7; Psalm 34 (NKJV)
Things David learned while he was in the secret place are written by him in Psalm.
Psalm 27:5 (NKJV)
“He shall set me high upon a rock.”
He was not out of sight, but he was out of reach to King Saul.
When you are hiding in the secret place, the enemy can see you, but cannot touch you.
What God hides, God preserves.
Your greatest pain can become your greatest ministry!
The “cave” you are in is not the end of your story!
