Over the past decade, FRKTL has released an amazing discography of work, including her recent remix of Senyawa, and her critically acclaimed album Excision After Love Collapses. FRKTL is also a visual artist who creates multi dimensional worlds, glimpses of which you can find adorning albums by some of our favourites. From her home in Latvia, she has crafted a two hour journey through experimental, abstract, ambient, and instrumental works with many field recordings. It also includes some vocal work, and more of her own music than she usually puts into a mix. It is music to escape into while at home in solitude, eyes closed or looking up at the sky through the window.

We love Cory's journeys into raw house and techno as Borrowed cs, and jazz excursions with his band Clear Path Ensemble. Cory is also one of our favourite DJs, who finished things off on a high for us at the last edition of Catacombs. Mike also runs the versatile and vibrant label Planet Trip Records, with releases from Errortica, Midnight Tenderness, and Cory Champion's Borrowed cs. His sets cover a lot of ground, from dollar bin jams to foundation cuts, and other wild UFOs. Tonight, he runs it red with an hour of digital dancehall. Friends, it's a high class show.

Will Hofbauer is a rising star from the UK. He's appeared on Bradley Zero's South London staple Rhythm Section, as well as Asquith’s Lobster Theremin, following a debut on HOMAGE in 2019. Will runs the playful Third Place imprint, which has released material from Sangre Voss, Stones Taro, and Ranga since its inception in 2019. Will’s music has received support from the likes of Ben UFO, Bradley Zero, Moxie, OK Williams, Tom Ravenscroft, and more. He also holds a residency at the Co-Select events in London, and demonstrates his ability to weave through textures and styles with this mix.

Diesel is a non-binary DJ and the antithesis to the current House & Techno scenes in Auckland. They coined the term "Fetish House" as a means to decolonise their music and distinguish themselves from existing normative structures. However, Diesel's world building goes beyond just the music. At events like Nympho, Diesel unapologetically weaves high-energy club sets with performance and visual art to create liberating moments for the local queer community. We share an auditory glimpse into their world, before their performance at Beacon Festival 2021 on Saturday. This journey to the depths is entitled "Piece Of Underworld". Leave your inhibitions at the door.

Sequentia is the solo moniker of Grace Verweij, an Auckland based musician and promoter. She is a facet of music projects ‘lskse_’ and ‘Milk'. Grace runs Related Articles - an interface for the dispersal of electronic works, which functions as a monthly broadcast, a record label and a club night. In 2019 she co-established the bi-annual 3-day experimental music event 'Outlier Festival'. Grace is an enthusiastic participator in the local scene, having brought over a number of internationally touring artists over the last few years [Divide & Dissolve, Spike Fuck, Habits, Wet Kiss, WDK]. Her mix showcases leftfield dance music from around the globe, and is dedicated to her late partner Reuben Winter.

Anton Spice is a broadcaster and journalist from the UK. He is founding editor of The Vinyl Factory online magazine, co-runs Dislo Publishing, has written and produced music documentaries, has contributed words to multiple publications and liner notes, and appeared on NTS, Worldwide FM, Dublab, and now - Friendly Potential Radio.

"Like any good daydream, this mix isn't particularly linear. Instead, it moves between scenes, moods and sequences, loosely inspired by the title of Takami Hasegawa's only album L'Ecume de Jours (itself named after Boris Vian's 1947 novel, Froth on the Daydream). When I first heard the track of hers I've included, it totally blew my socks off - a jazzy little ballad, tinged with melancholy and outrageous orchestral flourishes. It has a baroque, melodramatic quality that I think you get in a lot of the less mainstream pop, synth and new wave from the mid '80s. On the one hand, the rhythms and melodies are punchy and full of confidence, and then on the other, there is a naïve, nostalgic strangeness to the song-writing, so aware of its own fast-fading youth that it almost melts away completely. If there's a feeling I wanted to capture with the mix then it is this contrast, between vivid technicolour and hazy drift."
