  • Ep 203 pt.1 w/ Hannah D
    Hannah D is able to weave her DJ sets through seemingly disparate realms of music with ease. It's a skill that makes her performances so exciting , and has quickly earned her support slots for a hectic array of artists and appearances at festivals across Australia. This passion is also channeled through her Brisbane based label and artist management collective The Space Between Us, which provides a platform for artists hailing from the sunshine state. She shares a mix that brings together club-focused maximalism and isolation-inspired introspection.

    @thespacebetweenus
    A bit about the mix:
    While there has been a huge part of me lately that has felt quite introspective over the last few months, there's also a big part that misses the club - loud music, dancing etc. So this mix summarises this for me - it's quite club focused for the most part, with parts of introspection (and a little cheese at the end <3). Bits of IDM, techno, progressive trance and breaks - and a lot of tracks that have quite distinct elements typical of a mid-late 90s sound which I am super into lately. I had a lot of fun recording so I really hope you enjoy listening :)

  • Ep 201 pt.1 w/ D.Tyrone
    A clear highlight of Beacon Festival was D.Tyrone's pumping live debut. This wasn't unexpected. The Melbourne-based producer is one of the strongest dance talents from Aotearoa at present, having released a solid solo long player for Head Rush Enterprises, three EPs for Lobster Theremin as part of dj kush boogie, and hosted numerous dances with the Night Pottery and INKY WAVES crews. If you've been missing some of that energy from March, we have an hour-long live mix from D.Tyrone, recorded straight out of their Octatrack.

  • Ep 200 pt.2 w/ Madame Zhou
    Mancunian maestro Madame Zhou helps run INDEX:Records, a Berlin-based label with strong ties to the New Zealand dance underground. This advocacy includes their recent NZ Electro 2020 compilation, and an upcoming EP by Ike Zwanniken. We hear a paean to a clublife, with a mix recorded just before the UK got shut down.
    About the mix:
    "This mixtape was recorded in Manchester towards the beginning of the Coronavirus lockdown in the U.K. which, happened to coincide with loads of my upcoming DJ gigs and parties that we were hosting being cancelled. So I wanted to recapture the sounds of the club, mainly as a nod to all of those hefty sound systems that are (temporarily) laying dormant all over the world, and to invoke lucid daydreams about the positive energy and spirit of the parties that will inevitably occur once this is all fully over"
