Taylor Barnes is a bilingual 13 year old in grade 9 at ESCC.   She loves a variety of sports, however her heart is in the Dance Arts.  She has had a love  of dance since she was only 4 years old and attended her first concert at age 5.  In the past 5 years she has been committed to dance competitively.

This young new to me friend, Owen Harvey at only 12 years old understands how valuable community is. From a hockey community where the other team players cheer each other on to being able to have a conversation with local store owners. This is the power of a supportive community. Owen Harvey, 12 year old son of Matt and Kayla from the little village of St. Albert with the big cheese business. Owen is one of 3 children in the Harvey family where he and his siblings are free to roam the streets in this community with confidence. Owen enjoys his many communities he participates in with baseball, hockey and piano. Always knowing that he can count on the people in his community to have his back.

He has even earned a reward at school for being honest and taking care of his school friends. He always tries to do his best at anything he tackles. He loves to talk and has been thinking of starting his own biz. He is a happy young man with very proud parents.

Having a positive attitude when challenges arise is a learnt skill with support from others. Maria Emilia De Guzman came from Colombia, where she practiced and succeeded in numerous topics, such as making typical soups at age 7 using a little stool to stand up near the pot, became the sales star in her mom's upscale boutique, advising older women in their 20s for best fashion, and at 8, exhibited fine clothes in exclusive Passarelli. 

As a graduate of  mass media communication from the University of La Sabana in Bogota, Maria worked on several public relations projects and developed liaisons such as optical fibre, a discount card for young people and a TV Colombian show about aboriginal food.

What a wonderful conversation I had with this new to me young friend, Caiden Carrasco.
