This week, the guys asked the listeners to submit questions they’d like answered and they did not disappoint. There were too many to get through in one sitting but Mike and John answered some which were thought-provoking, humorous and controversial. They also touched on the growing trend where fans follow every move Habs players make on social media and discussed what that means for the dynamic between fans and players. The guys also let rip on a certain member of the media who refuses to let go of a baseless and misguided vendetta against the organization.
This week, the guys debated whether Marc Bergevin solved the team’s most glaring needs and discussed whether other changes were required. They also discussed the recent trade between Las Vegas and New Jersey and wondered why some feel the need to mention Bergevin and the Habs whenever a deal goes down between other teams. They covered Michael McCarron’s new deal, the controversial comments made by Nikita Scherbak and ended the show on a positive note by showcasing the drastic makeover within the prospect pool. Who says the dead of summer is boring?
This week, Mike and John had the pleasure of welcoming former Hab Glen Metropolit to the show. ‘Metro’ shared some incredible stories about his life, career and his time with the Habs which as he described it left an impression that is hard to put into words and cannot be erased. This week, the guys took issue with the notion that Marc Bergevin has had a poor off-season, a strange declaration to make in the middle of July. They dissected each move and decision made to date and what they see happening in the near future. They also discussed Victor Mete’s role on the top pairing with Shea Weber and whether they see him keeping it. They wrapped things up with a discussion on which of Bergevin’s blockbuster trades has proved the most effective so far.
This week, the guys had the pleasure of speaking with the voice of the Habs on TSN, Bryan Mudryk. Bryan was an absolute delight, sharing incredible insight into the career of a broadcaster, his battle with cancer, a wonderful homage to his late brother and his thoughts on Cole Caufield, the Sebastian Aho offer sheet and the upcoming season all with a sense of humour fit for a late night talk show. Mike and John also discussed the Patrik Laine rumours, Mitch Marner and the new addition to the team, Nick Cousins!
