On this week’s episode, the guys discussed whether offering Andrei Markov a contract was a good idea and whether Mitch Marner was a target worth pursuing. They were also joined by the one and only Scotian Canadien who provided an insightful and first-hand account of the Memorial Cup with a specific focus on Joel Teasdale's memorable performance and what Habs fans can expect from him going forward. The guys finished things off by blowing off a little steam with a lighthearted (and sometimes dark) new feature.
This week, Mike and John spoke to another pillar of the Montreal media circuit, Mr. John Lu. (59:00) John was beyond gracious with his time and provided insight that went far beyond expectations. He spoke of his inspiration in pursuing journalism, his career and provided some of the best Habs takes of the season which ranged from the PP costing the Habs a playoff spot to the immeasurable impact of Shea Weber being named Captain. The guys also speculated on what the Habs might do in free agency and how they might solve their gap on defence. You will not want to miss this episode!
On this week’s episode, Mike took exception to the idea that professional athletes owe us a certain behavioural standard simply because of their elevated salaries and you’ll never believe which player he defended in order to make his point. They also dove into the embarrassment of riches that are our prospects and debated who may end up with the higher ceiling. Mike also provided listeners with an ice-level account of Nick Suzuki’s outstanding performance with the Guelph Storm which prompted another debate; should the Habs even bother going after Duchene? All that back and forth gave the guys an appetite for some more player ratings; Frolin, Niemi, Lindgren, Armia and Bryon were on the board!
On this very special edition of From Failing Hands, Mike and John are joined by Habs forward Nate Thompson. They talk about growing up in Anchorage, Alaska, how Nate got his start in hockey, turning pro, the amazing achievement of sobriety, his time with the Canadiens, what he really thinks of our nickname for him and answers some pretty controversial questions in a rapid fire-style segment!
This week, Mike and John took time to discuss some of the incredible exploits from certain Habs rookies, including the mind blowing performance of Nick Suzuki as he leads the Guelph Storm deep into the playoffs. Mike couldn’t help but heap more praise on Poehling while firing a warning shot toward those who want to turn him into a political pawn. They touched on the Best Moments Bracket Challenge, handed out more 3-point slice ratings and began the discussion of the summer brought to them on a silver platter by their buddy, Mourad; to start? What should the Habs do in free agency and at the draft?
