Over the course of just one month, President Gerald Ford survived two attempts on his life. The first attempt was on September 5th, 1975, when a follower of Charles Manson tried to shoot him at close range. The second attempt was just seventeen days later, by an unassuming housewife named Sara Jane Moore.
