Ryan Bowers is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, a National Board-Certified Counselor, and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor who has been practicing and conducting research on clinical and academic supervision since 2014. As a graduate of Duquesne University’s CACREP-Accredited Counselor Education Ph.D. program, Ryan was trained didactically and experientially on conducting supervision for both graduate students in counseling programs and with post-graduate professionals seeking licensure. Ryan has held teaching positions at various colleges and universities in Pennsylvania including, Immaculata University, Duquesne University, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kutztown University, Albright College, Elizabethtown College, and Lehigh Carbon Community College. He is also the owner of Epistemic Consulting Service, LLC where he provides clinical mental health and substance use counseling to individuals, couples, and families. Ryan uses the Discrimination Model of Supervision (Bernard, 1979) and the Integrative Reflective Model of Group Supervision (Stinchfield, Hill, & Bowers, 2019) when working with students and post-masters professionals to help the counselors develop into ethical and effective clinicians.

Dr. Ayli Carrero Pinedo is a formerly undocumented Peruvian immigrant, first-generation student, APA Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) fellow, advocate, and an award-winning counseling psychologist. Her work is guided by liberation psychology and public psychology, where she specifically addresses the intersection of trauma with culture and race while acknowledging the compounding impact of structures of oppression. Her advocacy work on behalf of underserved, immigrants, and rural people caught national attention and she was selected as the August 2019 Fellow of the Month by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). When she was the student chair of the Trauma Psychology Division (Division 56) of the American Psychological Association, she developed the Cultivating Healing, Advocacy, Nonviolence, Growth, and Equity (CHANGE) Grant. This funds student’s and early career professional’s trauma-based projects. In 2021, she also founded #PsychGradWishList, an online mutual-aid movement for incoming psychology interns and graduating trainees of color. Her dedication to the present and future of the profession was recognized in December 2022, when she was awarded an American Psychological Association Presidential Citation for her commitment to eradicate racial trauma and her leadership in supporting early career psychologists and graduate students.

In her practice, she specializes  in disenfranchised grief including service dog and pet grief and loss,  human death loss, and grief related to living with a disability. Andrea opened her second company,  Achieve With Andrea (AWA), in the summer of 2021. AWA has several  different programs including a membership to help therapists with their  social media, hosting women’s retreats and workshops, creating useful  journals for purchase, a course for female entrepreneurs, wellness  workshops for businesses, AND a department for continuing education for  therapists. As of June 2023, Andrea opened a 3rd company dedicated to  mental health specific for people with developmental disabilities in New  York. Andrea is passionate about mental health and how to help other  entrepreneurs maintain mental wellness to be able to excel while holding  a life-work balance.

Her passion for helping  immigrants build a home away from home led her into private practice in  2016, and in 2021 she founded 253 Therapy and Consult in University Place, WA to  mentor the next generation of therapists and increase accessibility to  mental health services in Washington state. Phebe is a Washington state  approved supervisor and is a doctoral student pursuing her PhD in  counselor education and supervision. She is an upcoming adjunct  professor at Antioch University New England who is currently researching  international transracial adoption and hopes to pursue her research  further in Ghana.
