Shannon is the curator of the Buxton Historic Site and Museum in Buxton, Ontario, and Bryan is on the board of directors. Bryan also is the author of three books about the Underground Railroad.

They discuss their heritage as descendants of fugitive slaves and the interest in the Underground Railroad that developed from their ancestry. Bryan discusses briefly how his first book, I Came As a Stranger, originated. They also talk about their traveling Underground Railroad musical, Road to Freedom.
