"So basically you're taking, an intangible thought. From the ether that comes through, say an idea or a feeling that ignites you into. And within that action with every action, there's a reaction and 2012 I put it out, say like a rocket of desire and wrote it on a card, probably two years previous because I was banned from the United States."
Ryan John Phillips was born in North Vancouver B.C on July 8th 1975. From the time he was 2, Ryan was on skates with a hockey stick in his hands. The dream of becoming an N.H.L superstar was imbedded into his mind from almost infancy. He played the game he loved and eventually left home at the age of 16 to pursue his dream in the Junior ranks of Canada. (The gateway to the N.H.L.) Unfortunately Ryan endured many serious injuries and off ice inner battles that hindered his growth and attitude. The game he once loved became more of a nightmare. He played parts of 5 years in the semi pro leagues in the United States, after a tumultuous junior career.
At 19 he was introduced to the beginning of the B.C marijuana boom, and that perked his interest because of the large sums of wealth that could be accumulated in a short time. Hockey fell to the wayside and Ryan took his networking skills and used them by forming a smuggling ring that generated millions of dollars a year. His luck ran out after losing many associates to murder and substance abuse, he landed himself in a Federal Detention Center for over 500 days. The charge was conspiracy to import 103 pounds of the banned plant. Ryan learned a lot while incarcerated, most importantly how important our freedom is.
It took a few more years of hard earned experience before Ryan left the underworld that takes no prisoners. He decided in his own mind that everything that he thought he wanted in life, primarily money started to take on a different meaning. He began to see the spiritual side of life on earth and made the decision that he wanted true happiness. It didn’t take long before he realized that this is a constant inside job that we can control with our thoughts.

"I was doing really well professionally, but I was doing equally as terrible personally. And I remember at 27, collecting an award with the Denver business journal for the top 30, under 30 for engineering that year. And while I'm going up to collect this award, I had this ankle monitor taped up my leg because you could see it. If I was wearing a skirt and I was wearing slacks and you could still see it come up from the slack. So I had to tape it up my leg and it's because I was sleeping in jail that night, I was on work release and no one knew just how bad things were getting."
Noelle is such a strong willed woman, who has overcome a lot in life. She played college sports, and was very athletic! But she filled her time with drinking through her 20's. She was working a job that paid her very well, but on the inside she was hurting, hiding this all from the friends, family and people that cared the most about her. It all came to a screeching halt when she collected her 3rd DUI in the state Colorado before she was 30. That is unheard of, as the state laws are very strict there. She is now all about giving back in the community, and helping other woman through sobriety.

"It's kinda the first time where people don't really have the high school distractions at home distractions. That's when, all of these feelings started coming up and all of these previous emotions started coming up and I realized I don't have any of the tools for this. I don't know how to deal with any of this."

"At this point, my awareness level has shifted in so many ways, and I'm now at the point where I want to help other people move through those motions of just, going through all the things that life throws up. Different ways to potentially cope, obviously different things work for different people."
On today's episode I am joined by Shelby Hayle, who is also the owner of Hayle Creative Co. We dive deep into a great chat about mental health, and how she was struggling after the birth of her first child with postpartum depression, she talks about the importance of listening to your body and taking care of yourself. You have to have a great support network to do all of these things and she does have that with her family and friends. She decided to leave her corporate job, and branch out on her own after taking a coaching program, she then created her own coaching program, and her first client was the lady who originally coached her. She then tuned this into a full time thing and now runs a full scale social media business. She is also a real estate investor with her amazing husband.

"Painting is such a good release because it changes my focus where I have to think about what I'm trying to create. I always thought, okay, I was lazy or I'm just a slob or there were all of these negative things that I told myself about what I didn't do that everyone else around me did."

"I always kinda, I guess I grew up with a mindset of scarcity and lack and I think maybe I didn't get the right attention or I just, I didn't receive the proper things that a child should receive. And so that ended up manifesting in the way that I thought about myself and doing that for awhile."
In this podcast, Angus Mitchell tells his own experience with depression and how he found a way to love himself through spirituality. It was not easy for him to be able to get rid of the negativity in his life, but through spiritual growth he learned that there is more than just one side to life. He learned that it is okay not to be okay sometimes and that we should focus on loving ourselves. He also talks about the toxic positivity movement which is a trend in our society today.
