Absolved of her sin, and cured of leprosy, Miriam, the sister of Moses, was reunited with the children of Israel. The nation continued its journey, and “pitched [their tents] in the wilderness of Paran” (12:16). The events recorded in today’s Scripture reading are among the most dynamic in Israel’s forty years of wanderings in the wilderness.

Leviticus is as its name implies, a book that directed the Levites in their priestly duties. Worship, offering of sacrifices, festivals, and matters of the Law are all addressed in Leviticus.

Continuing our study of the Book of Leviticus, this is my second devotional commentary from that book, as we continue to study the various sacrifices the LORD required of Israel. You will notice the standard, “without blemish,” was God’s requirement of all sacrifices. After all, anything less than our best is unacceptable to God.
