  • From the Middle - Olympic Controversy, Ostensible Cornucopia, and Ominous Character-Reveals
#264. The Olympics are on, but can we finally start talking about athletes!? Kory’s pool is illuminated, so can we talk about wiring diagrams!? And sure, the Mandela Effect is real, but can we talk about the Fruit of the Loom logo!? And talk about these things did we. Also something about peeing into golf clubs. Details inside. After the break, Dillon shares a wonderful online trend of using Inside Out music to give parents some perspective. Speaking of perspective, some Marvel Universe fans are letting their minds and keyboards go crazy after a recent actor/character reveal concerning Dr. Doom. Are they justified? Let us know your thoughts via the LinkTree below! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Dillon’s Game Day, Kendall’s Beautiful Bat, and Kory’s Not-a-Party
#263. Kendall’s first birthday gift was a home run, Dillon’s recent gaming experience is a touchdown, and Kory is punting on what a party is. Have you yet tried the long awaited NCAA College Football? You all know its a big deal for one host and we celebrate with Dillon as he discusses the overall feel, gameplay, bugs, and learning curve (or lack thereof). Speaking of celebrating, Kory is having a no-presh get-together with cake for his birthday. Chime in to our socials via the LinkTree and share your thoughts on what such an event should be called! We love Kory. On the back half, we get into the world of wiring and troubleshooting exterior illumination. Then we discuss the streaming environment of today and whether the high turn-over of shows causes you to be more careful about what you watch. Dillon briefs us on The Acolyte and we learn about the “Ball Caddie.” Enjoy! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Random B-List Sightings, Rat Boy Summer, and Restaurant Booth Staples
#262. Kory’s working on a project in Manhattan where a kid dropped a bomb in an elevator. We’re also seeing possibly-not-but-probably-so celebrities but we don’t know who they are. And in the confusing world of Gen Z, rat boys apparently are owning June through August. After needing to take a break to wrap our heads around that, we spend the back half discussing old guy things like sitting in diners and fast food restaurants for no reason other than to hassle the staff whom we know all too well. We aren’t there yet, but we’re looking forward to it. In not-streaming, Dillon was impressed by a live performance of The Lion King. In streaming we discuss Inside Out 2, The Acolyte, Trying, WWE Money in the Bank, and Sweet Dreams. We enjoyed this one and hope you do to! Chime in via the LinkTree below and, until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Furry Sightings, Football Snapshots, and Food Struggles
#261. Kendall’s bright-eyed and bushy-tailed hanging out in a hotel lobby somewhere in Pittsburgh. Or maybe his voice is low as he looks around making sure no one is listening. Also, Independence Day is behind us and we recount our moments and memories of this year’s celebrations. Then we hear some of the less fluffy details of being in Pittsburgh. After the break, we discuss sports team logos and whether cities should coordinate color schemes which leads to the big reveal of game-play peaks of Dillon’s beloved NCAA College Football for PlayStation! In streaming this week we discuss F1, Password, Only Murders in the Building, The Acolyte, and Agatha All Along. As always, chime in via the LinkTree below and, until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - BBQ Gab, Blizzard Guff, and Boarding Groups
#260. Middler extraordinaire and fellow podcaster Jon Lathrop sits fourth chair as we head into Independence Day festivities. He’s a bbq master from Texas who co-hosts the show Grab’em in the Brisket and if his cookout skills don’t make your mouth water, his July 4th USA outfit will. This episode goes way beyond meat, however, as we discuss some of our typical fare: hot dogs being considered sandwiches, shady customer service at drive-throughs, airplane snacks, and people getting in our way. We do discuss a bit of streaming as well with Shane Gillis’ “Tires,” The Acolyte, WWE, and the presidential debate, which makes the next sentence  even more important. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - BeauJo’s, Borrowers, and BRATS
#259. Kory shares one more gangsta Hawaii story before we dive into a new-to-us pizza experience which can be found in Colorado. The “Rocky Mountain Pie” is your entree and dessert all in one package and it needs to move to the midwest. Speaking of Kory being away, we pull back the curtain on how Dillon and Kendall craft an episode in Kory’s absence with a fun game. Then we talk about how great communism is. In the second half we discuss Kendall’s basketball court which is a great place to twist an ankle then smack the first person who asks if you’re ok. Maybe if you had a very specific super power, you could have ankles of steel. But only the ankles. Do you have any mundane superpowers you’d like to have? Let us know via the LinkTree below! In streaming and media this week we discuss Shane Gillis’s “Tires,” Baby Reindeer, Godzilla Minus One, Acolyte, Brats, WWE, and Holly by Stephen King. We hope you enjoy, and, until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Garage Sales, Hawaiian Tales, and Car Fails
#258. Dillon’s garage sale results are in! But what about the stuff that didn’t sell? Is it still out? What ever happened to the typewriter? Did we have good Father’s Days filled with sweet gifts and chewy ice? We dish out all the juicy details along with some discussion comparing today’s rubber-mulched playgrounds with the skin-burning reality of the hazardous zones we grew up with. After the break, Kory shares the beautiful, funny, and frustrating details about an extended stay in Hawaii with his family. During which he discusses the importance of studying local driving laws pertaining to your vacation spot, the disgusting things fish will eat, hot snorkeling destinations, and other great ideas for your next family trip no matter where you go. It’s a fun one, and we can’t wait for you to hit play! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Honest Abe, Handwriting Aptitude, and Hawking Assets
#257. We share some honest facts about Abraham Lincoln because we’re high-brow. We do things like write in cursive and pass on traditional table manners to our kids. We also enjoy playing with sticks and geek out over Alvin and the Chipmunks, so take that for what it’s worth. Long story short, we dive into what our kids are up to when school is out versus what we did at their age. Also, Dillon is holding a garage sale! Looking for a typewriter? Name your price. If you don’t want to pay anything, maybe check his curb the following trash day. Streaming this week is short, but quality. Welcome to Wrexham Season 3 is on tap as well as National Geographic’s Orcas vs. Great Whites. Chime in via the LinkTree below and, until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - All Things Summer
#256. You can hear the summer time music in the air tonight! Phil Collins is now the king of summer music and Garth Brooks is wondering what happened to his reign. We talk about the season and the way media affects mood and how mood affects media. We also dive into the deep end of public pool nostalgia. Dillon plans his sabbatical for NCAA College Football while Kendall logs his weekend celebrating an old friend. Pick up your banjo and play along via the LinkTree below where you can make your voice heard in the discussion! Until next time, be kind to each other. Aloha, Kory!

  • From the Middle - First Fish, Hillbilly Hotdogs, and Dangerous Dental
#255. We hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend! Some of us enjoyed our freedoms  by yanking fish out of the water. It was good weekend for amateur fishergirls. Others clinched our cheeks while fighting the elements on two wheels at freeway speeds. Others clinched our wallets in the face of a tipping dilemma. What would you have done? Have you ever tried a shirt shaver? Do you brush your teeth in car? These and so many more topics in this one are waiting for your response! Follow the LinkTree below to share your thoughts. Until next time, be kind to each other.
