We invent superheroes and their stories but Jesus is an actual superhero who has defeated our greatest enemies. At this point, Peter declares Jesus to be the Christ and Jesus then declares that his true mission is to suffer, be crucified and resurrected. This is not what they (or we) wanted to hear.

Another rebellion erupts against David, this time by someone named Sheba. David's commander surrounds the city where Sheba is hiding and is about to destroy the city except a wise woman intervenes. The city gives up the rebel and the city is spared. Like this woman, Jesus intercedes on our behalf and saves us from certain destruction.

His disciples are witnesses to all these miracles but remain obtuse about who Jesus is.

As David returns to Jerusalem, he settles matters of justice. He pardons a man who cursed him profusely and rewards a man who helped him greatly. When Jesus returns to this world, he will settle all matters of justice.

In Mark 7, Jesus is confronted for not adhering to traditions of how to follow God's law. Since traditions were collected wisdom of generations over centuries, going against tradition was a big deal. Jesus has the authority to override all collective wisdom.

King David's son, Absalom, revolted against his father. Now they face each other in battle. David's servants are miraculously victorious over Absalom's army. David gave specific instructions to not harm Absalom, but David's commander kills Absalom anyway. Again, we see that rulers are not in control, but God is in control.

He also feeds the 5000 with striking connections to Psalm 23 and walks on water while making a claim that can calm our fears.

King David's son, Absalom, revolted against his father. David is then forced to flee for his life. Absalom opts for the less-sound advice from David's secret ally instead of the sensible advice of a highly-esteemed advisor. This was by divine design. Whomever our superiors may be or how intelligent the advisors, God's will always prevails.

King David's son, Absalom, revolted against his father. David is then forced to flee for his life. On his way out of Jerusalem David encounters a man who hurls curses and stones at him. Instead of ordering this man's execution, David does not retaliate. Similarly, Jesus did not retaliate against those who insulted and injured him.
