Flutist Alicia Mielke returns to the studio to talk about her career in music, and to perform a preview of her upcoming concert with pianist Kevin Garnica. Ashley DeMoville, Director of Spokane Falls Community College's production of Qui Nguyen's "Six Rounds of Vengeance" visits the studio to discuss the play, which takes place in the post-apocalyptic "Lost Vegas." Andrew Start, Director of Spokane Civic Theatre's production of Kenneth Lonergan's "This Is Our Youth," visits the studio to discuss the play, which centers around young adults in 1980s Manhattan. Abigail Rockwell, Norman Rockwell's granddaughter, visits the studio in advance of an evening at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in conjunction with the "Rockwell's America" exhibition. Ms. Rockwell discusses "My Adventures as an Illustrator: The Definitive Edition," which restores the original text and illustrations of her grandfather's autobiography, co-written with her father, Tom Rockwell. Stephen Jenkinson is an activist, teacher, author, social worker, farmer, and founder of the Orphan Wisdom School . He is also the host of A Night of Grief & Mystery , a musical, poetic, ceremonial evening which he describes as “devoted to the ragged mysteries of being human.” The tour will be in Spokane on Wednesday, November 13th, 7 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theater . Charles Pepiton, Professor of Theatre at Gonzaga University, visits the studio to discuss a new adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy of young love and dueling families, "Romeo & Juliet." Tim Westerhaus, Conductor and Music Director of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, returns to the studio to discuss the upcoming Veteran's Day concert, "Grant Us Peace." The Spokane Kantorei and Festival Singers, and Collegium Chamber Orchestra will perform music and words inspired and written by veterans. Kearney Jordan, Director of Spokane Civic Theatre's Academy, visits the studio with a preview of the Academy's production of "War of the Worlds." Timothy Egan is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of nine books including The Big Burn, Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher, The Immortal Irishman, and The Worst Hard Time , which won the 2006 National Book Award for non-fiction. His new book, A Pilgrimage to Eternity: From Canterbury to Rome in Search of a Faith , follows Egan on a personal journey of more than 1000 miles as he considers his own faith and traces the history of Christianity in Europe along the way.
