Spark Central's latest creative community project resurrects the live radio drama with a production of "Treasure Island." Marc Anthony directs a cast of community actors of all ages, some playing multiple roles, through Robert Louis Stevenson's swashbuckling adventure. Also in the studio are Spark Central's Program Manager, Melissa Dziedzic, and voice actors Amanda Moulton, Sawyer Frye, Jared Frye, Mariah Eggers, Owen Eggers, Sue Eller, and Caryl Briscoe-Michar, performing a preview of the show.

Spokane Children's Theatre visits the studio with a preview of their new production of the musical "The Addams Family." The original story based on the classic television series and films introduces a grown-up Wednesday Addams (Molly Robbins), bringing her "normal" boyfriend home to meet the family for the first time. Dr. Sophia Tegart, Clinical Assistant Professor of Flute at Washington State University's School of Music, visited with Verne about the many celebrations of the flute that are happening on the Palouse campus this month, including WSU Flute Day on Saturday, October 12. On October 18, the 100-year Celebration of Dick Kattenburg, a composer who died in a concentration camp, she will play his flute sonata. American pianist and composer George Winston pays a visit to the studio to play selections from his expansive repertoire and recording history, and for a conversation with A Little Afternoon Music Host Jim Tevenan. George Winston's tour took him to the Schuler Performing Arts Center at North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on Friday and the Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls, Washington on Sunday.

Jan Pellant, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony, visits the studio to discuss the upcoming season opening concert, which features pieces by Dvorak and Smetana, and the season to come, "Heaven & Earth." Coeur d'Alene Symphony's season debuts 7:30 PM Friday, October 4th, at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene. There will be a matinee performance at 2 PM Saturday, October 5th, as well. Organ Plus!, presented by the Spokane Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, is an evening of music by organists and accompanying musicians on a variety of instruments. Nisha Coulter and Jim Holmes, musicians and organizers, visit the studio to talk about the concert and the efforts of local musicians to educate the next generation of organists. Josephine the Volcano, a trio of musicians Olivia Brownlee, Coty Hogue, and Kat Bula, visits the studio to perform songs from their upcoming shows, and to talk about their musical influences and their work as collaborators.
