From Where I Sit Podcast

...Welcome back to the #2NDWAVE of the #CREATIVES series....

Ten guests, ten interviews, ten different people to learn from....

My second guest, Nathalie, a YouTuber, has been someone I wanted to talk to ever since I got this podcast up and running but we finally made it happen!

She's a multi-talented, eclectic content creator who's been kickin' it in South Korea for the past 5 years. A self-starter with an eye for style, design and presentation, Nathalie creates videos that harness a wealth of experiences and loves,  execute her creative vision and sprinkle in her effervescent personality to boot.

On this installment we thought we'd finished the podcast.. WE THOUGHT!

We had ANOTHER conversation right after!

We talked family and how distance can actually be a positive for certain personalities, more info about YouTube content creation, a bit of a dive regarding Korean customs, items and music. You'll never take your fridges for granted again, America!

Come for the conversation, stay for the school bells and self-deprecation!

Stir yourself up a boba tea, grill up some samgyeopsal and have a listen to your favorite homie on the Internet...and me! JEULGYEO!

On this installment we covered a lot of topics. Public displays of affection in Korea vs the US, her favorite anime and how it's shaped her life, the creative process of making YouTube content and some of the lengths she's had to go to make something. We also talked common misconceptions about Korea.

Come for the conversation, stay for the school bells and self-deprecation!

....Welcome back to the #2NDWAVE of the #CREATIVES series....

Ten guests, ten interviews, ten different people to learn from

My first guest in this series is Nick Lehotsky, a very well-read, PA-born, NY-based actor and voice actor. He took the time out to share with me some laughs, a few quotes from the people he's learned from and Grade A conversation.

In the second and final installment of this episode, Nick talks about some of the actors/actresses that have influenced him, what his favorite role is, his guilty pleasures when it comes to films and acting performances, his "dream role", what his steps are when preparing for a role and why we may have way more mentors in our lives than we think.

Pour yourself a warm beverage, get comfortable, and stay quiet on set.....ACTION!

In this particular installment we talked about our top ten films (in no particular order, of course), superhero films and the mediums they appear on, what merits a classic, modern day actors vs actors of yesteryear and why Nick has a bit of a book problem.

Pour yourself a warm beverage, get comfortable, and stay quiet on set.....ACTION!

Enjoy the first part of our conversation....and check out part 2 when you're done with this one!

This is what happens when a pre-interview goes swimmingly well...

Nick Lehotsky and I talk tea and other hot beverages, appreciation for preparation and patience, and first world tea bag problems. Come for the flavor preferences, stay to hear how we've both added animation to our growing list of talents!

(Excuse the technical difficulty around the 17min mark...the internet is notorious for it's lack of reliability but I found a way to make it work!)

I'd originally planned on doing a full show breakdown of House of Cards after binge watching in February but 73 episodes broken down in one podcast episode, solo? That was too big a bite for even me to chow down on!

So I decided to break off a manageable piece and talked about one of it's main characters: the mercurial, magnetic Claire Underwood.

(Please be warned there are some spoilers here for those that haven't seen the show!)

Short and sweet.

Feedback is definitely encouraged!

Hope you all enjoy!

Fortune favors the bold and starting this #CREATIVES series took some big steps on my part!

My sixth and final step in this series led me to Dawn Bates, performance coach, mentor, best-selling author, and ghost writer who has a bead on becoming a ship captain!

I caught up with Dawn fresh off of 84 days at sea in Chile (!!!)(Isn't the internet an amazing thing??!)

We talked about her desire to live at sea since the age of 8, the MANY steps necessary to become a captain of a vessel, her fascination with travel and being location-free, Dawn's take on "kidnappings", the unconscious conscious creation process, how writing 1000 words becomes a breeze when you learn to focus on everything but the number and why it's a grave error to underestimate someone who laughs a lot...No worries. No Joker references here!

Pull into port with a fresh pot of tea warmed up, drop anchor and give this podcast a listen!

My fifth step led me to Tara Jacobsen, rebel entrepreneur with 19 years of marketing experience, Etsy store owner, author and a mother of 3!

So many hats to wear! Only one head!

Tara definitely provides the listeners with a heaping helping of knowledge in her own very particular, direct way. We talked about what her four main priorities are, the many starts and stops she's made along the way, and how creativity is involved in almost every aspect of her daily life!

Come for the creative questions, stay for the gems of knowledge, the raw honesty and Tara's energy throughout!

Set aside seventy minutes out of your day to lock in on this particular episode listening to this dead tree enthusiast! You will not regret it!

My fourth step led me to Wendi Michelle, an entrepreneur, published author, Precision Wellness Specialist, Health Advocate, food and supplement formulator and hope expert, just to name a few of her jobs!

I caught up with her in transit, so on this call we talked about a variety of topics. Wendi talked about why mental health is #1 and when does she find the time for rest and relaxation in her busy schedule.  Also discussed was how modern medicine may (or may not) have failed us as a society, some of her interests musically, a brief but informative bit on the highlights of Nashville, Tennessee (for those may want to visit but never have, like myself!) and some general wellness tips for the listeners out there!

We also talked about the expanded idea of what a creative person actually is!

So get comfortable, grab a glass jar of spring water and some brain food and have a listen!

My third step led me to Jeremiah Craig, a balladeer, song-writer and folk music enthusiast located currently in Boston.

We talked about keeping imaginations engaged, the inspiration to create music, self-imposed time limits, Jeremiah's early performance spaces, his creative process with his new bandmates, The Rusty Crowbars and a comparison of the music scenes in Seattle and Boston.

An enjoyable time was had talking with Jeremiah and he's definitely got a fan in me of what he does!

If you happen to be in the Boston area on January 17th and want to take in a Jeremiah Craig and the Rusty Crowbars performance, check out jeremiahcraig.com for more info on the when and where!!!
