Hate crimes against Muslims in Canada have more than tripled in recent years. Muslim girls are having their hijabs pulled off in schools. Muslim women are being assaulted on public transit. This episode is about what we do with that reality — as mothers, and as women raising daughters in it.
We name what is actually happening to Muslim women and girls in Canada — in schools, on public transit, in workplaces — with the specific data and documented incidents that most of us have been softening in our own minds in order to function. Then we give Muslim mothers two things: how to prepare their daughters before anything has happened, and how to support them after it does.
We cover the practical tools — what to do when an incident happens, where to report it, what her legal rights are in Ontario. We cover the conversation about the hijab itself — why she wears it, what it means, and why daughters who wear it from their own conviction will hold it steady when the world pushes back. And we close with what we are actually trying to build: not a daughter who is safe from Islamophobia, but one who is resilient in the face of it.
She is visible. Her visibility is an act of faith. This episode is about protecting it.
