Back after a three-year hiatus, Dama Asia Productions are set to present All That Glitz & Glamour on the Silver Screen, a musical theatre concert that will relive the magic of signature songs of the Mandarin Golden Oldies era, from the 1930s-1960s. The show marks a comeback of sorts for the multiple award-winning and multilingual theatre company, who are renowned for their blending of East-West harmonies in their musical performances. We get a crash course on this era of music from Pun Kai Loon, the Artistic Director of Dama Asia, who is also the director and scriptwriter for this production, and we also find out what's in store from Yon Lynn, a vocal coach and artiste from All That Glitz & Glamour on the Silver Screen.
A new monologue by theatre legend Chin San Sooi is set to be presented over two weekends, starting from the 1st of April. Titled Ah Kong, the titular character is a retiree who recalls his youthful days in Tanjong Pindang and Ipoh, and his other memories of days gone by. We find out what's in store from Alvin Looi, who will be playing Ah Kong in this monologue performance.

Described as a family-friendly show, Spooks, the Musical is a production by the Cempaka Performing Arts Company (CPAC), and is a modern tale set at Transylvania High which follows the half human, half vampire teenage girl, Drusilla, attending her first day at the gothic school. Accompanied by other classic monsters on stage, the spooktacular show also promises some “fang-tastic” music composed by Nick Choo, covering different genres such as ballads and contemporary pop/rock, all with a fun and creepy edge to them. Nick joins us to share more about the musical, and what he has conceptualised for the production's music.
Dreams We Tell Ourselves is described as a 60-minute solo performance exploring the emotional turmoil that comes with leaving behind the familiarity of home and embarking on an uncertain journey through the lens of the narrating protagonist — the Dreamer. This intimate exploration is also said to delve into the complexities of human aspirations and the delicate balance between chasing a dream and settling for a predictable, yet unfulfilling nightmare. We discuss what the play explores and is all about with Wyman Wai, the director and performer of the piece, and Murasaki Haru, the play's production manager and the Artistic Director of Howl's Theatre Co.
