Ghouls, goblins, witches, and werewolves, they're terrifying. And most likely not real. But we humans have been attracted to fear they and other monsters have instilled in us for millennia. We're the only species intellectual enough to conjure up such stories, and thus the only species to also find it enthralling to explore these imaginings.

But why?

Pammela Rojos and Rafael Marfil have been producing music of many genres together for a long time under various names. Shiro Schwarz, however, is one that joins a lot of that previous influence to create some that is as funky as it is poetic.

We talk about what goes into their music, where their music has brought them, grabbing breakfast with Nicolas Jaar, and what advice they have for aspiring creators. It's not hard to fall in love with this sound, so why not meet the people behind it?

In today's episode, we talk with Joseph Hood, the indie horror author whose debut from 2019 has pushed him to pursue his career as a writer even harder and tackle his second novel which is set to release October 30th of this year. Even if you're not a fan of horror, his writing might still be up your alley. With a plot that is driven by its characters, My Friend Nick feels more on the spectrum of a thriller novel than true horror.

I feel that Joseph's work is certainly worth the attention and you should order My Friend Nick before his second book, Bride of Warren releases next month. He's an author that understands the human experience from each of his character's perspectives, and I am excited to watch his list of titles and talent grow.
