The Nationals warn the federal government has been too slow in its response to a senate inquiry into the spread of fire ants. 

The report was tabled back in April, but Labor has only just responded this week. 

Rural Editor Emily Minney spoke with party leader David Littleproud, who says the inaction has allowed the pests to spread further.
