A Gentleman
proved himself
yet again
to be no gentleman at all

He pushed his fingers into my broccoli floret

with a dexterity,
I grant that much,
That I had never know

indeed the magic of witchcraft
and Satan
was surely afoot
for the creature of fast hands
released a viper from
behind his heavy velvet cloak

Still tugging on my broccoli floret
the gentleman,
now a two headed monster with three eyes.

parted my juicy
mango

with large,
although finessing,
fingers.

I quite yelped
I was faint with
yearning

all at once
from my quivering rump
to my hard almonds
beneath my
corset

We were halted in proceedings
by
the arrival of a house guest

Another fancy,
strapping and filled with devilment
mounted
on a black stallion
He whistled for my immediate
attention

I watched the stranger
through the window
as the gentleman
behind me
gave his serpent to my mango

i wanted to talk about mental health and being successful an entrepreneur making a million um not specifically as a business model concept although we'll touch on that we live in a technological age and the technology lends itself particularly to anyone who may be suffering with any type of mental health concern from bipolar to autism anyone on the spectrum high functioning autistics for example asperger's but also you know people with it complex needs complex issues where they can't leave the house so the idea that we can um set up a business literally from a bed a wheelchair is completely and utterly plausible today because of the advancements in technology and because of the way business now works and this was all you know magnified really during the pandemic when so many people were beginning to work from home so disability is no longer a problem but mental health has its own um complex really debilitating complexities i would say depending on you know what mental health issue you have you may have now mental health as a concept for making money in itself is actually quite a good business idea we're becoming much more aware now of mental health people are concerned of them and about their mental health they're concerned about improving it they want to learn people want to be taught there are great opportunities for texts writing studies nursing memoirs about your journey um you know from youtube videos you know all of these things they're actually a good source of financial gain and the concept is just that mental health um what i think will separate the mental health aspect and the physical disabilities for now and but really specifically what i want to talk about is how you cope if you are suffering with a mental health problem and you're trying to you know make your first million not out of being you know not out of the concept of mental illness itself and perhaps you've got some other business or your idea whatever well there are many many aspects to mental issues and disabilities but the one thing that i have noticed is that a lot of millionaires are actually have one to other or sometimes more um mental health issues or concerns or disabilities so it's not unheard of anymore and actually if you look through history many many inventors artists performers all suffered very badly with different types of mental health problems and we have to be brave and say i've got a problem i think that's the first thing um mental health is you know if you have a mental health concern if you are you know as pendulum swing with um bipolar or borderline personality disorder you have to concede that that is going to be a problem if you don't address it now what we can do is we can massage the problem we can create an environment where it is no longer problematic but if you don't address it how on earth are you going to create strategies for achieving your goals we you know it's a bit like well look i'm a short person and i'm designing a business for tall people i need to get a ladder so that i can stand on it sort of obvious isn't it but a lot of people don't they they either think that right at the end said oh i can't do that i'm a short person i mean that's the big stumbling block isn't it or they don't have the ladder ready when they need it and for a mental health issue that comes and goes that waves and ebbs and flows and you know is unpredictable with with the moon whatever it is what you know we can't especially if we suffer from depression and um understanding predicting exact times of your downtime your depression your um you you know your reaction to life it isn't necessarily the best solution where how can we predict some of these things none of us can predict about of the black dog you know a serious depression this you've generally no warning although there are quite...

Summer

On a checkered
blanket
sometime in June

the aubergine glistened
in a red tart sauce

It pointed upwards
towards
the hungry sun

There was a promise
hung on a faint breeze
of
bursting joy,
of boys
swimming
topless
and girls
showing the flesh
of future
mothers

Nothing matters in the sun
when heat waves
camouflage
the past,
only the present
survives the heat of summer

And so he took me

a boy with swagger
and poise
I’d never seen before


ravished,
open cunted
on the picnic blanket
spread wide
to take the
whole of him

banging and throwing the aubergine
in its blood-red
sauce

asunder
for
the night vixen
to devour the memories of the
passion
when darkness came
