The strategies necessary to getting your first million especially for women.

so i wanted to talk about resolve and the thing that links all of the people that i've interviewed for the book is their ability to get out back on the horse dust down back on the horse keep their resolve keep their mission in mind go forth carry on they've thought of this amazing idea they've got this concept or they're working towards a a journey that has um you know a beginning a middle and an end and their resolve cannot be broken and the quite often when i interview people who have failed and have not started again have completely lost their resolve quite often um it's it was such a small thing that ruined them that ruined the task the target that in retrospect they could see how easy it would have been just to start again or to re-launch or to learn from the mistake and get back on the horse so this idea that um the millionaire has 100 resolve to keep going no matter what is something that i see over and over again and it's quite interesting now women unfortunately we are still um distracted by domestic duties by um honor that we feel you know duties that we feel we should uh give to other people before our business and i see very often that women lose their resolve because of familial commitments that's the big one perhaps a bereavement they have to organize everything a funeral perhaps um you know your kids have got exams and you you just can't you've got to put things on hold for three years while they get their a levels you know with this kind of thing and it happens time and time again we we need to pick our times of course we do we need to pick our moments for driving it's you can't be driven and distracted this this is an impossible scenario it's not going to succeed so you have to consider how distracted you are going to be and how you can compartmentalize things but resolution is a different thing altogether i've met women successful entrepreneurs who had partners who became jealous and resentful when they started to make money when they started to succeed when their goals began to come to fruition and i have to say that any sort of resentment or jealousy should not be tolerated for successful business these sort of resentments are seeds that will grow they will never disappear so you need to do something about that early days you need to knock it on the head you know i'm not a relationship counselor on this podcast at least so you need to think about the possibility of that uh breaking your resolve i mean if it occurs and you can handle it and it's not going to break your resolve that's great um but just bear in mind that resentment is a seed that grows into a tree and successful women are resented in the home and outside it beyond the home as well of course so what do we do if we are confronted with something that makes us feel ruined that we want to give up well the successful business person male or female doesn't give up i've met so many millionaires that have failed uh 20 times and they just start again this is resolve no such thing as an overnight success resolve means you learn from your mistake and you get back on the horse and off you go again and you don't take time doing that no more time than you need okay it's no good sitting back for six months and thinking oh didn't do that right you need to think that you need to think permanently whilst moving you're moving towards success you need to be thinking on the hoof okay

so imagine let's think of an example you've spent thousands of pounds on a trade fair for your collection amazing collection of handbags and you didn't get a single order well all things that you do are practice for success so we need to consider everything every venture every effort as practice for an end result it's perfecting your technique so nothing is truly wasted a previous podcast we talked about gambling your all your money on one venture and how silly that is so...
