so there's a great old saying look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves and it's of course it's glaringly obvious and you know we hear this all the time we're reminded of it and yet so few of us do and it's interesting that so many um poorer people are extremely flippant about the way their money is disposed of spent flitted away and there's this sort of mentality i think for a lot of people a lot of working-class people they work very hard a week money comes at the weekend and they want to spend it all you know what's left and they don't care they just want to have good time and life is short sort of mentality of enjoy what you have when you've got it you don't have much um you know have a hooli well of course you know you can spend 100 pounds and uh have a really good time not remember it because you know this sort of frittering away is is part and parcel of um not being too choosy about how you spend your money and i'm not here to tell you that you shouldn't waste your money drinking i definitely you know i'm partial to the vino but what you should do is check the receipts the next day and what you'll find actually is a lot of very wealthy people are accused of being mean it's because they check everything it's because to get wealthy you need to avoid as much waste as you possibly can waste is an expense that rich people do not entertain

if you're you know if you win the lottery and you buy a yacht is it waste not if you're going to enjoy it it's not but if you lose it the next day because you've gone bankrupt you know because you gambled or something or i don't know that definitely was a waste and when i talk about becoming a millionaire and how to become a millionaire as a woman i'm not talking about you spending 20 years creating this environment that brings money to your table and good fortune for you to lose it i'm talking about creating a substantial amount of money and keeping it and sustaining it so waste becomes something that the successful millionaire the successful wealthy entrepreneur needs to avoid at all costs now some waste is inevitable but if you start checking everything everything that comes in to your purse everything that goes out you'll find that you start to become richer but it seems obvious that i even have to say it but these meager savings become the money for your investment into your future because if you find 10 pounds uh you know on the under the um uh the cushion on the sofa or on the floor in the street the imagine it's a thousand pounds imagine it's a hundred thousand pounds that you've just found but it's yours

what would you do with it well the richer you are the more wise you will be about spending it so what i'm suggesting is that you become wise about the small amounts because the small amounts are the formula that will create your fortune they're the start of the formula the small amounts are the amount that you are going to double triple quadruple and if you start to have this mentality that everything small is a percentage of something much bigger you'll start to value it much much more so when you're checking you know if you become the sort of person that avoids waste that holds on to um money and advantage because this this could be a conceptualized um strategy as well you could hold on to opportunities don't let opportunities slip through your fingers don't waste them don't throw them away when you're out um with your colleagues and everybody's having a hooli and nobody's going to remember it in the morning perhaps if you didn't drink quite so much you would make some connections that would be advantageous in the morning i mean it's unlikely in a club to be honest darlings but do you see where i'm coming from and this is another way that rich people become richer because of course rich is relative and of course the the...

so i wanted to chat a little bit about the concept of over trading it's actually a very real thing over trading in terms of business uh happens when a business expands too quickly and without the finance behind it the resources to support a quick expansion um so for example you'd sell everything that you've got um but you don't have the backup to replace the stock um there are i mean there are loads of ways that it could happen um you know if you stack something very high and then it and then it all sells but you haven't got time to replace it because time is so linked with business and it's such an important part of business what about if you don't have the stuff you don't have the qualified stuff you haven't trained your staff yet all of these things would um would actually be devastating for a company you don't want to sell all your stock in one fell swoop you don't want it's a sort of eggs in all one basket scenario but it goes a bit deeper than that i think with um an entrepreneur who is starting from scratch the idea of building slowly financially sort of makes obvious sense but this and there's another thing that occurs and i'd call it emotional over trading so what do i mean exactly well if you stay up for you know 20 hours a day and work non-stop and your takings your earnings rocket at some point you're going to over trade emotionally and physically you know this idea of emotion and um the body being separate we need to completely get rid of that they're completely in unison

burnout is a an equally good term actually burnouts are sort of over trading of the person of the human being you work far too hard there's nothing left you crash and burn and it happens over and over again with so many entrepreneurs you're doing something that's completely and utterly

unsustainable so this is when it's really important to understand your growth and to analyze it now when you're doing really well say you've got i don't know an instagram and you're a makeup artist there are only so many hours in a day where you can be in peak performance and you do not want to burn out and have you know one month uh five thousand well let's talk about a day then um a thousand new followers in one day but you put out five broadcasts you are going to find that the next day you're completely and utterly bushed and those thousand followers are not going to be sustained because you aren't putting into their investment do you see their flybys because investing in your followers is your business if you're a youtube entrepreneur your fans are your business and you've got to nurture them and not over trade with them so if you make something and it goes viral and you get a million hits or 10 million hits or whatever it is can you sustain it can you keep all of these million people

in the you know in your grasp in your loop in your fan base can you really how sustainable is this uh um you know this fever if you like even if you've made a lot of money out of it and let me tell you you're not going to make as much as you think from youtube advertising very hard to become a millionaire through youtube advertising but that's by and by the purpose of the the the good planned business is going to be the more the most successful business so what this is why we write business plans and this is why we say to ourselves right let's use this analogy again so we've got our makeup you know video center and your business plan includes one half hour or 20 minute video per day or one every other day and your business plan for the first month was to have a thousand followers okay and one day you've you make the film the next day and and you edit it that day and the next day you do your marketing so you do all your social media and you do all your um you know the sort of dirty work behind it that the unglamorous side of pushing your business now the...
