Was das heißt?
Welche Maßnahmen muss man letztlich umsetzen?
Viel Spaß beim Reinhören!

9 out of 10 B2B SaaS Scaleups are missing their revenue targets.
So… what do we do about that?
I don’t need to explain how not meeting targets creates issues for the founder(s), the employees and the investors who back everything, right?
So why do actually 90% of Scaleups miss targets?
Briefly put: internal systems are broken. Especially the way revenue planning and its execution is still done in many B2B SaaS organizations is completely dysfunctional.
Annual targets are derived from financial planning - instead of coming from bottom-up planning and continuous updates.
“How can I do better? How can I meet targets in 2024?” you ask?
That’s exactly what I talked about in my recents podcast episode. @Roman Geugelin, Co-Founder of @pyne an I talked about
How to create a shared revenue data model
How to create a bottom–up revenue plan to complement top-down
How to align all relevant stakeholders
in order for your company to hit targets next year.
Have a seat, have a listen, have fun.

So weit so gut.
- Enterprise-Kunden müssen ganz anders geführt werden, was ohne das dazugehörige Know-How schnell komplett überfordert

Are you tired of second-guessing your forecasts?
Unstable, unreliable forecasts. A constant state of uncertainty. Team morale that is almost not existent.
The root cause often boils down to a lack of foundation:
Undefined sales process: Without a clear roadmap, your sales team is flying blind.
Vague stages and criteria: Missing data fields and exit criteria create inaccuracies.
No regular check-Ins: Infrequent updates mean missed opportunities due to outdated data and lacking communication.
Stakeholder misalignment: When departments aren't in sync, your forecast becomes a guessing game in which none of the participants is happy.
How to do better, you ask?
This is what Janis Zech and I talked about in my recent podcast episode: Establishing an operating cadence for reliable forecasts.
Tune in and learn about the how, the why and the what in order to turn your unpredictable forecasts into reliable projections.

Many founders (and VCs 😉) are dreaming about moving upmarket and closing multi million deals with big corporates.
Big logos, big names - who wouldn’t start dreaming?
BUT it comes with a price:
You suddenly need an entirely different GTM motion.
In the past you might have had only one or two decision makers - now you are confronted with complex buying centers.
On top of that you are faced with different product requirements and terrifyingly long sales cycles.
This is where most start-ups fail painfully and sometimes even risk losing their already existing customer base.
So HOW for heaven’s sake do you ACTUALLY make this happen?
This is what Eva-Maria Hempe and I talked about in my recent podcast episode.
You’re thinking about moving upmarket or you’re already in the process?
Then this episode is a must-listen for you.

Sales - the way it is today - will die.
Less and less people - in B2C and B2B - want to talk to your sales reps.
They want to gather the information themselves.
Not being pushed into a sales funnel.
This puts many companies under pressure: Their growth heavily relies on sales. Their processes are simply not aligned in a way that enables the buyer end-to-end.
Rather they are dependent on their reps to guide prospects through the funnel.
This will be an enormous risk in the future.
The world gets more and more buyer centric every day.
What you witness here is a wave that’s called “buyer enablement”
Without enabling your buyers to make an informed decision, your company will have a hard time surviving in the future market.
Wanna know more about the rise of this new category?
Then have a listen to my new podcast episode where I discussed buyer enablement and the evolution of sales with none other than Marc Grewenig.

The goal of partnerships is to get you new leads. At least that is what many founders and revenue leaders think.
Turns out: That is and has never been the case.
True partnerships are not transactional. It's not money against service.
The idea of a beneficial partnership is a mutual long term relationship.
There needs to be something in it for me. And there must be something in it for the other partner. Sounds logical? For many people, it isn’t.
They think the value of a partnership lies in more sales or making a few more euros because of selling licenses.
But actually it is about creating new business opportunities together.
Serving bigger clients and delivering more value should ultimately be the goal.
So how do you actually create this kind of partnership?
How do you get partnerships off the ground that actually support your go to market motion?
How do you make sure all stakeholders from Marketing, Product and IT are aligned?
That’s what Martin Scholz and I talked about in my recent podcast episode.
Listen to the full episode, I’ve linked it in the comment section.
Enjoy - and let me know what you think!

How does a compensation model look like that not only motivates your reps but is also healthy and sustainable for your company (speaking of your ARR to OTE ratio)?
Of course you wanna incentivize your high performers to keep pushing the limits.
At the same time you have to make sure the company reaches its growth targets and your CFO doesn’t get nightmares when thinking about payroll.
So how do you set the right targets for your reps? How do you do this on an individual level and what ARR to OTE ratio should you optimize for?
How much variable compensation can and should you add - especially in times where everybody needs to cut costs as much as possible?
Fortunately, the guest of todays episode Malte Meinken shares with us some insights on how they came up with their compensation plan and what specific target he usually sets for his reps to hit.
Tune in and have a listen, link’s as always in the comment section

Weniger Vertriebstheater.
Mehr Wirkung.
Großer Spass 🕺💃.
