In this week’s interview, we chat with Ron Marz, creator of the crab-mask-wearing Green Lanterm, Kyle Rayner.  Ron is the current writer of Top Cow’s Witchblade, Magdalena, and Velocity.  We talk to him about stuffing women into refrigerators and all those artifacts in the Top Cow-niverse!

Seriously, the writer of such books as Iron Man: Legacy, Incredible Hercules, Marvel Zombies, Amazing and Web of Spider-Man teases all kinds of hot, gooey awesomeness in his interview with Paul.  He’s got lots of stories in the pipeline at Marvel and he talks all about ’em in this belated New Comic Book Day edition of Funnybooks.

It’s been a couple of weeks since we talked about new books, so settle in for our epic discussion of the books that have come since Free Comic Book Day.  Aron, Paul, Wayne, Jonathan, and Tim all got up extra early so that we could cram in some extra awesome into this week’s show.

Season 1.0 0f Caprica having wrapped, Aron, Paul and Wayne share their thoughts on the show.  They first establish what they thought of how the show’s predecessor, Battlestar Galactica, ended, chat a bit about the merits of BSG’s The Plan, and then plow headlong into SyFy’s Caprica chewing over what we’ve seen in the first eight episodes and predict what season 1.5 will bring.

A very special New Comic Book Day interview this week, as we talk to the writer of Oni Press’ latest hit graphic novel, Love Buzz, Len Wallace.  Love Buzz went through a hell of an interesting road making it to publication.

Love Buzz tells the tale of Norm Raymer, an aspiring comic artist, who has a turbulent relationship with Maggie. With their passionate ups and chaotic downs, is this love, or a youthful lust? For better or worse, Norm and Maggie must discover whether or not they can ever really make it as a normal couple. Can you really be a normal couple when your whole life is just fodder for your comic book?

Love Buzz is a mature take on love that we don’t normally see in comics, and a stellar first work from the entire creative staff.  We talk to Wallace about Love Buzz, and the struggles a creator goes through to come up with a follow-up.  All independent comic creators should listen to this episode!
