Fusion Youth Service - 16.06.2024 - This week, Mary visits Elizabeth in the hills of Judah, and we look at the amazing things that they both say to one another. Elizabeth, as well as the little baby in her womb, is filled with God's Spirit and prophesies about Mary and her son. In response, Mary "magnifies" God, and says some equally spectacular things. We spend a while discussing what it means to "fear the Lord". We also explore what is, arguably, the greatest of virtues - humility. If you can only pick one virtue - one character trait - to build your life on, you won't go wrong by choosing humility.

We break down Gabriel’s message and look at all its profound meaning, including prophecies from Isaiah about Jesus' birth. We also talk about the promise that Jesus will sit on David’s throne and rule over Jacob’s descendants forever.

Fusion Youth Service - 26.05.2024 - This week we begin to explore the very first thing in the story of Jesus, according to Luke. We're introduced to Zechariah and Elizabeth, an old couple who have lived righteous lives, but have never been able to have a child. With that in mind, we discuss the difficult problem of suffering in the lives of good people, who love God. And we see the tremendous promise that Jesus gives to those who suffer in that way.

Fusion Youth Service - 12.05.2024

After an eight-week break, we're getting back to our study of the Gospel - Jesus! Over the last nine sessions, we've explored all sorts of ways that the Gospel is pictured and prophesied in the Old Testament.

Now, we're shifting our focus to the New Testament! We're going to start exploring the Gospel - we're going to get to know Jesus - through the testimonies of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each of these writers offer a unique perspective, telling only part of Jesus' story. But, taken together, they give us a rich description of Jesus' life, and provide overwhelming evidence that the Gospel is true.

Fusion Youth Service - 31.03.2024 - This week is Easter, or Resurrection Sunday. We took the opportunity to explore the seven feasts that God gave to His people, Israel, which seem to lay out God's complete plan for our salvation.

In his first coming, Jesus fulfilled each of the first four - the Spring Feasts - on the very day of each feast. He was the unblemished and spotless lamb, sacrificed on Passover. He was the Unleavened Bread (of Life), and proven to be so by the Sanhedrin's final search after dark, the evening before the feast. And He was the firstfruits of the dead, raised to life on the Feast of Firstfruits, fifty days before the Spirit was given on the Feast of Weeks. It's quite incredible!

But, as of yet, the Autumn Feasts remain unfulfilled. It seems to me, that God's plan for salvation won't be complete until Jesus fulfills each of these feasts as well. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if He did so on the day of each feast - as He did with the first four. We'll have to wait and see...

Fusion Youth Service - 24.03.2024 - This week is Palm Sunday! So we've taken a slight detour to explore this amazing day. It actually fits pretty well in our Gospel series - we spend a lot of time looking at prophecies about this day in the Old Testament. In fact, God told Daniel exactly what day Jesus would ride into Jerusalem, more than 500 years before He did!

Fusion Youth Service - 03.03.2024

We're continuing to look at cool pictures of the Gospel in the Old Testament - this time, in the story of Ruth. We cover the first three chapters of this beautiful love story, from it's tragic beginnings in Moab, to Ruth's strange proposal on the threshing floor in Bethlehem. Next week we'll see how the story ends, and explore the amazing ways that it illustrates our own redemption, found in our own goel.
