Have you ever woken up and realized you are in your dreams? That’s lucid dreaming. You are in this fuzzy area where your conscious mind meets your subconscious mind. You can fly, you can have sex with the person of your dreams, but also tune in to the psychological trauma you have inside you. No need for therapy, no need for drugs, you can get in touch with your subconscious and understand yourself and heal.
In this episode, I speak with Aldo Barba, a lucid dreaming coach from Mexico, about why we need to have lucid dreams and how. He left his day time job to pursue his dream to help people, he wrote a book about it and hosts his podcast (in Spanish).

Zoom fatigued? I guess we are in the same boat. Nobody wants to be on another Zoom call or attend a webinar. We just want to get back to meeting people, listen to live music and get inspired by live speeches.
Certainly, during this time, people got creative and thought of new ways to interact online and there were new trends that were starting to spark pre-COVID. In this episode, I speak with Ed Vincent, CEO of festivalPass, a market place for live events, talks to us about what types of live events we are going to see in the future and how technology is helping festival organizers be creative about combining the best of live and virtual shows.
Here is what we will learn;
Ed Vincent is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of business, technology, and management experience including 6 years of banking and valuation experience. Founded an e-commerce business in 1999 which was sold to a competitor in 2001. Repeat Founder including SimplyEngage, myProducer, & Predict Ventures. Currently Founder & CEO of festivalPass.

In this episode, I speak with Dustin Miller, the host of The Polymath Polycast, who has been interviewing polymaths to learn about their traits and mental modes to become multi-disciplinary in numerous fields.
I have read many articles and books about the debate of whether being a specialist or generalist is better. Being a jack of all trades, master of none, is not a disadvantage anymore. Moreover, having many different skills and continually mastering them is something we should be doing.
Here is what you will learn in this episode,
Dustin is also creating a modular education system. Modular education breaks down degrees into smaller, Lego-like building blocks of learning, and allow both children and adults to tailor their education background to better position them for job prospects and career mobility.

In this episode, I speak with Shalaka Verma, Director of Microsoft about the kind of future we can see with quantum computing. She was previously a guest on my COVID-19 Special series: “What’s Next for AI” and wanted to get her back on the show.
The use cases for quantum computing are vast, ranging from agriculture, medical, finance, etc but still, the technology can be only used on a small scale as the results still need to be validated by quantum simulators. However, the future is promising as many of the ambiguities in science can be potentially solved with much more accuracy than the present.
Here is what you will understand in the episode;
Shalaka Verma leads a team of Global Cloud Solution Architects to drive the development of differentiated industry-aligned solutions on Microsoft Cloud and Services around it.
She also leads the Azure Quantum adoption within Microsoft partner ecosystem to develop early use cases and PoCs.
Previously she drove Technology Sales Strategy Transformation towards the next-gen at IBM. Delivered several first of its kind wins for IBM across Data and AI platforms, Hybrid Cloud, and DR/BC Strategies. Chosen to be the first Quantum Ambassador for IBM in the ISA region.

In this episode, I speak with Jonathan De Potter, founder of Behold Retreats, which provides bespoke holistic wellness programs incorporating plant medicine retreats in beautiful, safe, and legal locations. The information we read and/or hear about the healing effects of plant medicine, but there’s no point to this if the experience is a one-off situation. It’s only effective if it can be integrated into our stressful and busy modern life.
Here’s what to expect from the episode;
Jonathan de Potter is the Founder of Behold Retreats, passionate about plant medicine, and believes that absolutely everyone can improve their mental health and consciousness. He believes that in these times of change, the single most valuable contribution any of us can make is to focus upon our own personal and spiritual development.

The first episode of 2021 is on redesigning social media that can incentivize better content sharing to reduce fake news and propaganda using reputation as an indicator. The relationship with the original content creator and who’s sharing is disconnected. There’s the reputation of the publisher and the sharer that needs to be set straight to understand the quality behind the information that is spread.
Jenna Pilgrim is the CEO of Streambed, a company that is building a social media content analytical tool for content creators on top of blockchain infrastructure. By being able to track the content for its virality, it can put the source and the people who share it accountable and be able to get the network of those people closer than before.

In this 2020 year end special, I had an awesome chat with my friend and also the music producer of the Future Design Podcast, DJ toMU:吐夢 (aka ShowNing).
We explored the future of turntablism and DJing as technology has been changing how musicians are creating and recording music. Also the landscape of DJ has changed drastically since DJ toMu started DJing.
This episode is a special one for me as I was a turntablist when I was back in school, obviously not as good as DJ toMU. He went on to become the 1st runner up in DMC NY in 2005, which is the most prestigious DJ competition in the world and he's the only Japanese that made it that far.
He created a DJ toMu FDP Special Set for us just for this show. Check his set out on 1:05:40!
Here's what to expect from the episode;
- How has technology changed DJing
- Different concepts of DJs
- Finding your sound
- Why he got into Hip-hop and moved to NYC
- DMC NY experience
- Future of Music

Decentralized Finance, DeFi as it’s called in the crypto community, has gained so much popularity during this year. The market size went from just under U$1bn to over $11bn, which is still small compared to the colossal size of the traditional finance markets, but it’s becoming a force to be reckoned with.
In this episode Edmund Lowell, CEO of KYC-Chain, talked to us about all the nuts and bolts of the DeFi industry and how AML/KYC is an essential part of keeping this industry together if and when another crash comes along.
