Think about all of the financial decisions we make about our education, careers, marriages, retirement ages, Social Security, taxes, and investments. They all affect our standard of living —but most of us make these decisions by relying on crude rules of thumb or take questionable advice from friends and family, media gurus, self described experts, and advisers who are frequently little more than self-interested salespeople. There’s obviously a problem with what I’m describing, don’t you think?
That’s why I wanted to talk to noted economist and New York Times bestselling author Larry Kotlikoff about his new book, Money Magic, which distills his best personal finance advice to increase your spending power and enhance your standard of living. If you’ve ever felt like you could be living better or making better financial decisions, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

When we first heard about Joe Brew and Hyfe, I knew we had to schedule a FUTUREPROOF. Conversation. Originally from Florida, Joe’s work in public health has led him all over the world to tackle some of the biggest global health issues such as malaria and tuberculosis. His background in data science makes him an integral member of the team at Hyfe, where he’s a co-founder and CEO. With Hyfe’s sophisticated AI cough detection technology, anyone with a smartphone can track and analyze their respiratory patterns.
I’m talking to Joe today about data science, the need for expanding healthcare access and services for the global poor, why coughs are rich with medical information, and the future of global health in general.

We’re speaking today with Zoe Chance, who has a very cool story: she grew up poor and shy and worked her way up from telemarketing and door-to-door sales to professional acting to managing a $200 million segment of Barbie. Now, Zoe focuses on impact. She trains CEOs, activists, and leaders worldwide; and she teaches the most popular course at Yale School of Management.
Her new book is INFLUENCE IS YOUR SUPERPOWER: The Science of Winning Hearts, Sparking Change, and Making Good Things Happen, and I think this book has the potential to be a game-changer in the way people think about, talk about, and practice influencing each other.
We speak to Zoe about why influence is a superpower, the difference between gators and judges, why Empathy is a precursor to persuasion, and why one has to learn to be influential in order to chart the course of future history.

One of the topics I get asked about often these days is NFTs, digital goods, and virtual goods, which are overlapping topics and not exactly the same thing—well, you asked, and we listened. Let’s talk about that, shall we? I asked Leading Commerce expert, Holden Bale, Group Vice President & Head of Commerce at Huge, a global experience company I’ve covered for years—and even lost pitches to back when I ran an agency, but that’s another story. Holden lives and breathes this topic so you’re absolutely going to learn today about the future of digital goods, whether or not these are a fad or a long-term trend, which companies are innovating in this arena, and much more.

A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and ranked one of the “50 Leading Female Futurists” in the world by Forbes, April Rinne (pronounced Rih-Nee) is a trusted advisor to well-known brands and organizations including Airbnb, Nike, Intuit, the World Bank, as well as governments ranging from Singapore to South Africa, Canada to Colombia, Italy to India.
April’s also the author of Flux: 8 Superpowers for Thriving in Constant Change, which came out in 2021 and centers on what I think is a fascinating topic: Change! Humans very much struggle with change; especially change we did not choose! We resist it, we fear it, and we mistakenly believe we can control it. April writes that when we accept change as a feature, not a bug of the system, it catalyzes insights and opportunities for individual, organizational, and societal success.
We talk to her about her book, the eight flux superpowers she’s identified, the concept of a portfolio career, and how organizations can benefit from flux mindsets.

John A. List is the Kenneth C. Griffin Distinguished Service Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago. John joined the UChicago faculty in 2005, and served as Chairman of the Department of Economics from 2012-2018. List was the first Chief Economist at Uber and the founder of its Ubernomics Team. Now he is the Chief Economist for Lyft.
We wanted to talk to John because of his new book, The Voltage Effect: How to Make Good Ideas Great and Great Ideas Scale, which just hit bookshelves. It identifies five measurable warning signs that a scalable idea must avoid, and offers proven strategies for preventing voltage drops and engineering voltage gains. It’s backed by decades of field research, so we're really excited to have him here today.

A lot of brands just don’t get it. That’s one of the things I’ve learned as a longtime brand marketer and as someone who now covers them for a living. That’s why I’m excited to talk to Dr.Emmanuel Probst, the Global Lead, Brand Thought-Leadership at Ipsos and Consumer Market Research Professor at UCLA. He’s also the author of the Brand Hacks: How to Build Brands by Fulfilling the Consumer Quest for Meaning, which came out this past fall and is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestseller.
We talk to Emmanuel about why many advertising campaigns fail, the important of psychographics, why leveraging micro-moments to build connections with consumers can be a competitive advantage—and more.

I think it’s safe to say so much of our society is based off of consumption, no? But at the same time, there’s another interesting trend: people want to hold onto their stuff for longer. Consumers have demonstrated an interest in their purchases’ longevity, partially fueled, perhaps, by a greater interest in sustainability and the effect our consumption has on the environment.
That’s why we wanted to talk to Woodrow H. Levin. Woody is the CEO and Co-Founder of Extend, the leading provider of modern product protection. We talk to him about the problem with legacy protection plans, why consumers are trying to hold onto products for longer, some big news he’s breaking this week, and why that big news is such a big deal.

The world of marketing is shifting broadly, and that’s why I wanted to speak to someone who can speak broadly to the future of marketing. Enter John Connors. He started Boathouse in 2001 after years at the biggest agencies in New England and the world, whe wanted to bring a new type of performance-mindedness to the agency business. He previously served as a part of the McCann World Group Management team—at the time the largest agency in the world.
We talk to John about whether or not the CMO role is broken, what chief marketing officers are doing wrong, how they can improve, and whether or not they need to do a better job aligning with CEOs' visions.

The Reface app hit #1 in the App Store soon after release and was listed among the best apps of 2020 by Google Play. But of course, there's been plenty of news about the dark side of synthetic media, including deepfakes.
We talk to Dima about his vision for synthetic media as a form of entertainment, his concern for how these tools can be used for nefarious purposes, how Reface protects against bad actors, the dangers of synthetic media being used to create pornographic representations of women, the guardrails he's implemented to prevent malicious use of his platform, and much more.
