In today’s episode, we take an in-depth exploration of the human soul and its central role in the life of a believer. We examine what the soul truly is, how it functions, and why Scripture places such importance on its condition and direction. Focusing on the mind and the heart as core components of the soul, we unpack how our thoughts, beliefs, desires, and affections shape our daily lives.
We also got a better understanding of the sheep-like nature of the soul, its capacity to follow, to trust, and to be guided, while acknowledging how this same nature makes it vulnerable to influence, deception, and misalignment when not anchored in God’s truth. From there, our Pastor explained why the soul must undergo continual transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Going deeper, our pastor breaks down the inner dimensions of the soul, including the intellect, emotions, will, and conscience, and examines how each operates, where it can become distorted, and how each is meant to function when submitted to God. We explore how the intellect discerns knowledge, how emotions respond to feelings, how the will chooses obedience or resistance, and how the conscience accuses or excuses based on the knowledge the soul has been exposed to.
Finally, our pastor addresses why every aspect of the soul must be brought into submission to the Spirit of God, and what it looks like to live a life where the soul walks in harmony with the Spirit rather than in conflict with Him. This episode invites believers to pursue spiritual maturity, deeper discernment, and lasting transformation by allowing God to fully shepherd the soul.
