In this episode, we continue our discussion on the leading of the Spirit. Our pastor began by explaining what service truly means. He defined service as what your heart desires and what it sees as hope or life. He gave the example of the children of Israel, explaining that although God had physically freed them from the bondage of Pharaoh, they were still serving Pharaoh through what they defined life to be. One of the reasons God sent Moses to free the Israelites was so that He could teach them true service through their journey in the wilderness. God values our service to Him even beyond our prayers.

The beginning of truly serving God is when He begins to show us what men ought to seek. What we seek often reveals how we want to be perceived and what we consider valuable in life. God wants to remove the false hopes we have and change what we define as life. Through subjective leading, God gradually removes these things and repaints our understanding of what we should see as hope. Without changing the hope of a man, the issue of entering the Kingdom cannot truly be attained.

Our lives should not be found in the things we own or the things we do not own. To enter the Kingdom, we must be free from finding our identity and hope in these things because they are vanity, and living for vanity is ultimately being in service to mammon. God subjects a believer to His leading by surrounding him and making him lie down in green pastures, which represents the Word of God. The gospel that God gives to the believer reveals the true life of God.

Sometimes, God may take a believer through trials for the purpose of removing sin and wrong desires from the believer. The way God subjectively leads each believer is not identical because we all have different paths and different areas in which God is working in us. Therefore, in our various leadings, the question we should ask ourselves is: What is God doing in me through the path He has set before me?

There are several signs of subjective leading. One is an increased exposure to the Word of God in your life, as seen in Psalm 119:50. You may also notice increased activity of the Holy Ghost around you, such as a greater sensitivity to the Spirit of God. There may also be an increase in the comfort you receive from the Spirit of God, greater repentance and godly sorrow, and ultimately, spiritual growth at the end of the process.

In conclusion, we should be eager to be led by the Spirit and careful not to disobey the leadings of the Holy Ghost. Every leading of God has an intended end: our spiritual growth and conformity to the life of God.

In this episode of the Gadites USA Juniors meeting, Pastor James Akinjide taught on The Art of Devotion to the Lord, emphasizing that the heart is our greatest treasure and that true devotion means committing it fully to God.

We learned that the heart is a following entity that needs leadership and is led by love, and that left to itself it can be deceitful. Through the life of David, formed as a shepherd boy long before he became king, we saw that a heart devoted to the Lord is cultivated over time. We also saw it in Daniel's resolve and Joseph's response to temptation, both of which came out of hearts already prepared. David's response to correction in Psalm 51 showed that devotion means yielding to God's rebuke instead of hiding our hearts.

Ultimately, the teaching emphasized that believers must open their hearts to the Lord, welcome his exposure and chastening as the path to healing, and make a lasting commitment to give him their whole heart and follow his leadership.

In this episode of the Gadites USA Seniors meeting, Pastor Israel Ajiboye taught on Understanding the Faith, emphasizing that Christianity is rooted in knowing and believing the truth revealed through Jesus Christ.

We learned that genuine faith must be founded on God’s Word rather than traditions, assumptions, or personal opinions. As we receive the Word and grow in the knowledge of Christ, our faith becomes stronger and shapes how we live.

Ultimately, the teaching emphasized that believers must intentionally understand what they believe, become grounded in truth, and allow their knowledge of Christ to produce genuine faith and obedience.

In this episode, we continue our discussion of the subjective leading of the Spirit. As stated in the last episode, subjective leading is the means by which God puts His ways in our souls. It is His way of rearranging us and putting our lives together. That is what it truly means to make it: to come into all that God has for us. Through subjective leading, God exposes our lusts—for attention, fame, money, and other things—and changes our definitions of what it means to be rich, successful, or spiritual.

Our pastor went on to explain that one way to recognize when a lifestyle, an object, or anything in this world is anointed by Satan is to examine how owning it, or not owning it, makes us feel. That is sin, and sin feels like freedom until we try to stop. When God leads us subjectively, He is not forcing us to do things. Rather, He is delivering us from our sinful nature and teaching us to live daily by His Word.

An actual man is one who lives daily by the Word of God. What worries us, the thoughts we have, and the emotions we express all reveal what we feed on. Being a fearful person can be the result of feeding on content that produces fear. Sometimes, that content does not appear fearful on the surface, which is why we need discernment to separate the content from the spirit behind it.

Our pastor also beautifully described pride as a state in which a person is unable to look up to God. Yet God is raising people who will look up to Him and live according to His instructions.

Finally, it is a great mercy when God places us in situations that reveal the sinful attributes He wants to deal with in us. May we continue to hearken to the subjective leading of the Spirit until we are conformed to the image of the Son.
