In this episode, our Pastor continued to build on our understanding of the hope of the believer as revealed through the gospel.

We saw that what positions a believer for wisdom and understanding in the knowledge of him is faith in the Lord Jesus and love towards all saints, as seen in Ephesians 1:15–19. These are not optional, but necessary conditions that open the heart to divine understanding.

Our Pastor also showed us that the reason for different “sheepfolds” within the body of Christ is largely because of our different response to the truth found in the word.

Furthermore, we explored using various bible verses the distinction between conditional and certain statements in Scripture. For example, in Ephesians 1:18, the phrase “the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened” reveals a possibility, not a guarantee. In contrast, Acts 14:22 states that “we must through much tribulation enter the kingdom of God,” emphasizing a necessity, an unavoidable pathway in the believer’s journey.

We also saw clearly the true hope of believers. It was emphasized that our hope is not simply “making heaven.” Rather, the inheritance prepared for us is described in 1 Peter 1:4 as incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading. This shifts our perspective from a location-based hope to a nature-based inheritance.

Ultimately, our hope is both a promise and a person Jesus Christ Himself, as revealed in 1 Timothy 1:1. This hope works within us to simplify our lives, detaching us from the fleeting hopes of this world and aligning our hearts toward a consistent pursuit of the Lord.

In conclusion, we were reminded that the life of a believer is one marked by hunger, alignment, and a growing fixation on Christ and God as our ultimate inheritance. True hope reshapes our desires, refines our focus, and leads us into a life that steadily conforms to Him.
