In this episode, we took a deep and reflective look at the process by which the soul is preserved and transformed through the Word of God and the leading of the Spirit. The soul, created to reflect God’s image, faces decline and destruction when it strays from God, as the Scripture warns that “the soul that sinneth shall die.”
We were taught that words carry a profound power to change the soul. Just as a compass guides a traveler, the Word calibrates the Christian journey, leading us from the bondage and trials of Egypt, through the wilderness of trials to become like Christ, and into the land of promise where we become like the Father. Without this journey, the soul risks decay, decline, and spiritual death.
Through the gospel, God seeks to restore and sustain the soul. By knowing Jesus as the Christ and the Son of God, the believer’s mind and heart are continuously aligned with divine truth. The soul is strengthened and equipped to withstand sin, temptation, and the forces that seek its destruction.
Our Pastor emphasized that spiritual continuity is vital. Walking consistently in the Word ensures the soul remains vibrant, alive, and growing. This is not merely a theoretical knowledge but a living relationship that transforms character, behavior, and purpose. A soul that is continually fed, disciplined, guided by the leadings, becomes increasingly capable of fulfilling God’s calling, remaining unshaken in faith, and living as a true disciple of Christ and of God.
