  • Galway Ladies Footballers looking to make it three from three in Lidl National Football League
    Galway and Meath meet in Monday’s eagerly anticipated clash in Division 1 of the Lidl National League. (Throw in - 1.15pm).
    With two wins from two, and fresh from an impressive victory over Dublin in Tuam last Sunday, Galway’s joint-managers Maghnus Breathnach and Fiona Wynne have handed starts to Caoimhe Cleary, Aoife O’Rourke and Chloe Miskell.  
    They replace Nicola Ward, Megan Glynn and Roisin Leonard in the team that started against the Sky Blues.  
    Opponents Meath got their campaign up and running with a victory over Donegal in Letterkenny, to bounce back from an opening day loss to Dublin.  
    Royal County boss Davy Nelson has opted for an unchanged starting line-up for the Navan fixture, as Meath meets Galway for the first time since last year’s TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship quarter-final.

  • Galway League looks to win FAI U18 Inter-League Crown
    This Sunday, The Galway League hosts the Cork League in the FAI Youth Inter league Cup Final, a repeat of last season’s decider won 1-0 by Cork.
    Galway topped their group with wins over Limerick and Cork and beat Donegal 3-2 in the Semi-Final. Cork booked their place in the final with a 3-0 away win over the Mayo League.
    Their manager is Tom Reddington from Maree/Oranmore and he spoke to John Mulligan.

  • Galway v Wexford Preview - The Manager’s Thoughts
    On Saturday, Henry Shefflin’s Hurlers travel to Wexford Park to take on the home side in a game that also doubles up as the Walsh Cup Final.
    It plans to be an interesting game in what is Henry Shefflin's second year in charge of the Galway Senior Hurlers. 
    Henry has been speaking to Niall Canavan ahead of tomorrow's game.

  • GAA: Connacht PPS Senior Hurling Final Special
    This Saturday will see the finals of the Connacht PPS Senior A, B, C and D hurling Championships. 
    The Senior B Final between Portumna Community School and Holy Rosary College Mountbellew will take place in Duggan Park at 1pm and will be followed by the Senior A Final at 3pm between Presentation College Athenry and St Raphael’s College Loughrea.
    The D Final between Mercy Woodford and St Gerald’s Castlebar is at the Connacht GAA Centre at 1pm followed by the Senior C Final at 2.30pm at the Connacht GAA Centre between St Killian’s New Inn and Clarin College Athenry.

  • GAA: Over The Line Extra - Wexford v Galway Preview
    This Saturday, Galway travels down to Wexford Park to take on the home side in their opening game of the Allianz National Hurling League. 
    The game will also double up as the Walsh Cup Final.

  • GAA: University of Galway go out of the Sigerson Cup at the Semi-Final Stage
    Defending champions University of Galway are out of the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup following an extra time defeat to University of Limerick in last nights quarter final in Dangan.
     
    Maurice Sheridan's team started brightly with goals from Mark Mc Inerney and Moycullen's Ger Davoren helping them to a three point lead at the break.
     
    The Galway side were without the injured Tomo Culhane but were able to introduce Sean Kelly for the second half and it was his injury time point that took the match to extra time.
     
    However UL powered home with late points from the Clare duo of Emmet Mc Mahon and Ciarán Downes.
     
    Former Galway and University of Galway defender Finian Hanley was on analysis for the live stream of the match and afterwards spoke to commentator Oisin Langan.
