  • Clifden face Islandeady in Provincial Junior Football Semi-Final this Saturday
Following their win over Carrigallen on Sunday last, Clifden's Junior Footballers head to Kenny Park in Athenry on Saturday afternoon to face the Mayo champions Islandeady in the Connacht Junior Club Football Semi-Final (Throw in - 1.30pm).
Unfortunately, history has not been kind to Naomh Feichin when it comes to Mayo opposition losing provincial deciders to Killala and Ardnaree in the past but this side has shown great character throughout this year's campaign and was made to work hard by a gallant Carrigallen side in the Quarter-Final.
Selector Malachy Gorham has been speaking to John Mulligan ahead of Saturday's game.

  • Ballygar Hurlers bids to win Connacht Junior Title on Saturday
Ballygar's hurlers will look to create some history on Saturday afternoon when they take on Easkey from Sligo in the Connacht Junior Club Hurling Final at the Connacht Centre of Excellence (Throw In - 1.30pm).
If they were to win on Saturday it would be the first time since 2011 that the cup would reside in the parish. On that day they beat Calry St Joseph's by 2-13 to 1-6.
Ballygar did reach the final in subsequent years but was beaten by Carrick of Leitrim in 2018.
This year, John Hanley's side beat Skehana-Mountbellew/Moylough in the Junior A Final and completed the Junior double by beating Salthill/Knocknacarra in the Junior 1 Final to book their place in the Connacht decider against an Easkey side who are ironically managed by another Ballygar man in Brian Healy.
John Hanley spoke to John Mulligan on Wednesday evening as they looked forward to Saturday's Connacht Final.

  • Loughrea Captain Ian Hanrahan ahead of the County Final
Loughrea will bid to bridge a gap of sixteen years on Sunday next when they take on St Thomas in the Brooks County Senior Hurling Final in Pearse Stadium (Throw In - 1.30pm).
The last time they won the County Cup was in 2006 when they beat Portumna by 1-13 to 0-15.
This year they remained unbeaten all through the group stage and disposed of Turloughmore in the Quarter-Final and Clarinbridge in the Semi-Final.
Sean Walsh spoke to team captain Ian Hanrahan
