Rob Cesternino and Josh Wigler begin a rewatch of Game of Thrones Season 3 with todays recap of Game of Thrones Season 3, Episode 1: Valar Dohaeris. Join us each weekday through Friday, April 4th for one episode a day of our Season 3 Rewatch.

On this episode Rob and Josh discuss all of the plot points from Game of Thrones Season 3’s premiere:

* Rob and Josh discuss Samwell Tarley’s one job which he failed to do by neglecting send a raven to tell the rest of the Night’s Watch about the White Walkers which are on the march beyond the wall.

* What were Jon Snow’s true intentions with the wildlings?  Is he really going undercover or is he considering actually joining them?  How come not too many wildlings are pissed that the one cute girl beyond the wall, Ygritte, has a thing for the new guy?

* After Robb Stark put Catelyn Stark in jail, Rob and Josh discuss whether Robb did that to keep his mom safe from all of the guys who were pissed that she freed Jaime Lannister.

* We see Davos Seaworth get rescued and return home to speak with Stannis, However Davos gets thrown under the bus by Melisandre for the defeat at Blackwater.  Rob and Josh wonder why the Red Woman couldn’t summon one of her smoke monsters to take to Blackwater.

* After Bronn gets interrupted by Pod, we see Tyrion and Cersei discuss Tyrion’s upcoming conversation with Tywin Lannister.  Unfortunately for Tyrion, the conversation with Tywin does not go especially well.  Tywin tells Tyrion about how much he hates him setting up lots of great Tywin and Tyrion moments in Season 3.

* We see Sansa making up stories about what is going on in all the ships and the harbor before being spoken to by Littlefinger.  Rob and Josh discuss whether Littlefinger or Varys would win in a season of Survivor.

* Rob and King Joffrey are both very impressed with Lady Margaery and her efforts to visit the orphanage.  Unfortunately, Cersei isn’t too keen on Joffrey’s new love interest but she doesn’t realize that her not liking a girl will probably only make Joffrey like her more.

* Finally, Daenerys Targaryen ends up trying to purchase some slaves for her Army to take over Westeros and ends up negotiating with someone who doesn’t realize she speaks the language.  Then after surviving an assassination attempt, Daenerys ends up recruiting some more help for her cause from Barristan Selmy
