Game Tuesday has a fun little map game called King’s Empire – You just retook the throne of your town, and it needs to be rebuilt. You spend iron, stone and wood on building and upgrading your town. Your castle grows, and your people flourish as they work for their liege. In this game you form alliances with others, and fend off would-be attackers. Go to the wishing well on a daily basis to get a free gift. Dispatch your subjects to each area so they can mine, cut wood and farm. Watch your land flourish. Huzzah!

The Tuesday game is called Terra Noctis: Free Dreaming by Bulky Pix. I know – a lot to say. But it’s a fun game.

You are a cat, you run across the land picking up blue and red fairies. As you progress through the level, you also find the letters S, C, O, R, and E to gain bonus points. You can also get bonus coins, but you have to look for them. Watch out for the monsters – you can either pounce on top, or shoot them by touching the cat on the screen.

The levels get more fun and the more fairies you get, the more you can trade in the store for hats. Top hats, Indiana Jones hats, christmas hats and more. Of course, you can also get upgrades, but who cares? It’s a cat in a hat. Can’t go wrong with that…

The one issue I have with games like Free Dreaming is that you have to use the on-screen joystick. iCade may have solved that, though, with a new product called 8-bitty. This is a NES-similar controller pad that allows you to play games on your iPad, iPhone or Android device (although Android users won’t be able to play the iCade game pack).

The 8-bitty has the plus-style directional joystick, and four buttons on the right side. The controller pad is wireless, so you can have the device resting on a stand while you use the controller.

8-bitty is $24.99 but pre-orders are sold out at this time.

Today’s Game Tuesday has an app called Spice Invaders. This is an addictive Tower Defense game where you defend the spice mines from the earthlings.

Oh yeah. You are the one invading the Earth.

The robots get stronger, so you have to use your resources to upgrade your gunners. Air gunners for planes, land gunners for ground attack. Add in special attacks to keep the Earthlings from getting you.

You can play single mode, or go into the quick Multiplayer and either collaborate on a campaign, or fight amongst yourselves.

Spice Invaders is free. And addictive.

Today is Tuesday Gameday, and we have another Zynga app for you. Dream Pethouse is a game where you build tree houses for pets. You start with a dog, feed him until he’s old enough to have puppies. You can then raise cats, rabbits, penguins, foxes and more. As you build more pet homes and fun rooms, you expand your tree. When you expand around a hot air balloon, you get bonuses.

There are also bonuses for completing goals. Things like feeding your pets so many times, or building a bridge or decorations. Your rank will also depend on what you put into your tree.

Sign in to Facebook and you will be able to visit friend’s trees and get some gold. The in-app purchases can be made for fruit, gold and seeds, which you can use for upgrades.

If you liked those movies where Jason Statham drove in a souped up car attacking other cars and trying to win the race, then this app is for you. It’s called Death Rally. You do one thing – win races by any means necessary.

I downloaded this game and spent an hour racing the other cars. Your car has guns to shoot the others, and after each race, you get fixed up for the next one. You will even be offered new weapons from time to time.

When I downloaded the app, it was free. Since then it went to .99¢. There are in-app purchases of $1.99 for weapons upgrades, but it’s not too invasive. You don’t need the weapons, but if you want an unfair advantage, then $1.99 is what you would pay.

Today, we are going to look at a device that not only won MacWorld Best of Show, but also CES Innovation Award. Blue Mic has been making microphones for professional use. Their hybrid line of USB microphones have been pretty impressive. Now, they have taken it one step further with the Blue Mic – Spark Digital.

This is a microphone that can plug into a Mac USB port, or directly into an iPad. The condenser of the microphone will assure you of a great sound.

Just like their Yeti, the mic comes with a stand and shock mount. The Spark Digital retails for $199

One hazzard of doing a show about iPad apps is that you might just get sucked into the app itself. Case in point – Niko. A new app that just came out on Thursday. You are a creature that is collecting coins and trying to help out your fellow kind.

You collect coins and gold tickets throughout the level as you avoid getting smashed by rocks or falling into the eternal pit. The first six levels of Niko are free – if you want to unlock the rest of the game, $1.99 will take you to more challenging stages.

The game is put out by Sulake and Habbo.

Contre Jour

If you are a fan of the artsy movies, this game could be for you. Contre Jour is french for “Against Daylight”. The camera points toward a point of light, causing a silhouette.

In this game, you are an eyeball. The player re-contours the ground to move the eyeball. The goal is to collect the blue lights and get to the exit. You also get elastic and static tentacles to move around with.

The lite version of the app is free, but the full version will cost $2.99

Breffo Spiderpodium

While I was at CES, I found out about this fun little iPad holder. What looks like a spider, this 8-legged device can shape around the iPad.

What is really cool about this Breffo Spoderpodium holder is you can take two-to-four of the tentacle legs and shape them around an arm. The rubber surface also lets you put an iPad in odd places and it won’t slip.

Welcome to another Tuesday Game day. Today, we look at another board game for you.

Carcassonne

This is not only a city in France, but also a challenging board game brought to the iPad. Carcassonne is a game set in midevil times. Each player places tiles and set landmarks to call their own. It’s a little bit of Risk and a little like a puzzle – you must connect the tile to road or landmark.

The board game can become a 9 hour challenge. With the iPad head to head version, and other expansion packs, you can get into a very fun and long game. So be ready for the challenge!

Ford Focus Countdown App

Ford wants to talk about their new Ford Focus. But not until the Ford Auto Show next week. Still, Ford is coming out with new information about the 2013 Focus through their Ford Focus App. You can download this free application, then find out a little more about this car everyday.

New videos daily will bring on content you might want to know. You can also virtually create your Focus, and drive the car on the virtual track.
