Remember when you were young and people told you to put a dollar away a day, and how that dollar would compound annually to be worth much more by the time you reach retirement? That's the essence of "The Slight Edge", and the essence of sustainable, long-term success. Here's another question: How many times have you set huge goals and expect to achieve them quickly, only to realize you've over-comitted and cannot sustain the required effort? So many of us do this. We set ourselves up for failure. Stop doing that! Focus on the small, doable things that are just as easy to do or not to do. Do those little things more consistently, build momentum, then up-level and the Big things will happen. Julie has ‘tricks to make things stick’. For example, if you want to stop eating cheeseburgers, move from 5 to 2 per week, then once you achieve that, move on to the next goal, maybe it’s no cheese. Make sure you create small achievable goals, set yourself up for success, and allow those to compound over time to reach your big goals!
