Garden of The Mind: The Audio Logs

Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL034 || A Year in Review

Sep 29th, 2019

Today on the Audios Logs I take a look at what we have accomplished in the past year as we are approaching our one-year anniversary of The Garden of the Mind. A week from when this is released will be one year to the day when Mike and I agreed to start meeting once a week and build this podcast. It has been quite a journey thus far and I believe we have accomplished more than either of us sought out to accomplish. Looking back this year has been about finding our focus and honing in on our message. Which lead me to speak about where I would like to see us go in the next year. Can’t wait to see what the next season of The Garden has in store for us as we harvest this year’s crop and prepare for an even more bountiful harvest next year. So, let’s feast together and buckle up for the winter blues that will put what we have learned to the test. Tonight, I decided to throw a last minute impromptu Audio Log together for your enjoyment (or you’re enjoyment whatever works best for your world.) Biggest thing we have going on in the Garden right now is take time to pivot and work on foundational projects. While we figure out what the next phase is for this podcast, we keep talking about but not actually making. At least we got the mixtApes still in production. So, it has been nice to take some time and work on music and watch Mike’s creative process. This weekend we will be meeting with a guy who went to school for audio production so hope fully we can get some good content there. AL032 || Would I Conquer at The Olympic Games?

Sep 11nd, 2019

This time on The Logs we get into time management and I read a passage of Epictetus’s Enchiridion. I read chapter 29, which I think relates to time management and dedication. It helps me to put into perspective what it takes to see it through until the end. Other than that we actually wrote a new song this weekend and can find it on SoundCloud called Become Whole. I had a blast and hope we can make a few more for all the project we have coming out in the future. AL031 || Are You Hungry Enough to Sacrifice What you Love?

Sep 2nd, 2019

Just another update. Getting tired not sure what is to come… Wont stop grinding but this garden is about to freeze over for the dark season. Love you all hope it doesn’t get to dark for you…

Where do you go when there's nowhere to go? (Go)

They talk and they talk and I know they don't know (Know)

What it's like when your heart becomes empty and cold

How do I know what's real when my mind questions all I know?

How do I save myself from myself when I'm feelin' low?

How do I flip the page if I'm stuck reading what I've wrote?

Why do I always drown in my thoughts?

Need to learn to float” Witt Lowry

Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL030 || F*ck Brooklyn, No Sleep ‘til Japan

August 23rd, 2019

I have come to the realization that I yam what I yam. Popeye had it right, Ima cussing spitting, no good piece of shit. You will either like it, love it or say fuck it! Whatever the case, I will do me and stay true to myself. That is how I will tend to my Garden. So, if you don’t like the vulgarity then get the f*ck out of my therapy sesh. With that being said I got a lot to accomplish in this life and I will die trying to make it happen. So, if you are in my way WATCH THE FUCK OUT! With that, I have always said, “Someone else said it better…” and this time the Beatie Boy said it on a License To Ill:

No sleep till

Brooklyn (Japan)

Foot on the pedal, never ever false metal

Engine running hotter than a boiling kettle

My job's ain't a job, it's a damn good time

City to city, I'm running my rhymes

On location, touring around the nation

Beastie Boys always on vacation

Itchy trigger finger but a stable turntable

I do what I do best because I'm illing and able

Ain't no faking, your money I'm taking

Going coast to coast watching all the girlies shaking

While you're at the job working nine-to-five

The Beastie Boys at the Garden cold kicking it live

No sleep till

Another plane, another train

Another bottle in the brain

Another girl, another fight

Another drive all night

Our manager's crazy, he always smokes dust

He's got his own room at the back of the bus

Tour around the world, you rock around the clock

Plane to hotel, girls on the jock

We're trashing hotels like it's going out of style

Getting paid along the way 'cause it's worth your while

Four on the floor, Ad-Rock's out the door

MCA's in the back 'cause he's sleeping with a whore

We got a safe in the trunk with money in a stack

With dice in the front and Japan in the back

White boys got more rhymes

No sleep till

No sleep till Japan

No sleep till Japan

Ain't seen the light since we started this band

So, MCA, get on the mic, my man!

They call me Adam Yauch but I'm MCA

Like a lemon to a lime, a lime to a lemon

I sip the def ale with all the fly women

Got limos, arena, and TV shows

Autograph pictures and classy hoes

Step off, Holmes, get out of my way!

Taxing little girlies from here to L.A.

Waking up before I get to sleep

'Cause I'll be rocking this party eight days a week

No sleep till

No sleep till Japan

No sleep till Japan

No (no) sleep (sleep) till Japan (Japan)

No (no) sleep (sleep) till Japan (yeah)

No (no) sleep (sleep) till Japan (Japan)

Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL029 || What is Creativity? Oh, and Fuck Steve Jobs

August 20th, 2019

I haven’t been putting much thought into these Audio Logs, mainly because I have moved on to bigger and better things in my life. However, as I have said, I need my repetitions and will continue to produce these logs. While they have become more of a therapy season for me. I have also realized that they can provide value to others and I will continue to do them until I simply just can’t. By the time that happens though, I will already have a successful Podcast. So tonight, again I had no clue what the topic was going to be and just begun to record and rant about what is on my mind. Hopefully my Garden will help you to provide the nutrients necessary for your Garden to bloom the most extravagant blossoms that you can ever imagine. Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL028 || Flying Dragons Destroying Obstacles

August 12th, 2019

These Audios log have truthfully become my therapy sessions and tonight I had no clue what I was going to talk about. However, I have made a promise to myself that I will make at the very least one episode a week. Now that I have learned what I needed to learn to create the podcast that I want to create I really do not need this podcast for anything other than having fun. With that being said I will continue to make these until I find that they have run their course. For now, though they are serving me a purpose to really get my thoughts out there. Make them tangible. Make them more than feelings. Make them something that I can look back on and say “Yeah that what got me going.” We have, and I myself have come a long way since we started working on this podcast. So, stay tuned because there are a lot, I mean a lot, of projects that will be coming your way from Solykos Media. We have found our Direction and now we will be working on our momentum. Lightspeed is where we are going, so keep up if you can, and if you want us then you have to catch us. Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL027 || Maximum Effort

August 6th, 2019

This morning I decided to make a podcast instead of laying in bed and attempting to sleep. As sleep has decided it does not want anything to do with me right now. I would speculate that it is because I have a lot on my mind. A lot of good. A lot of bad. Thoughts that won’t go away no matter what I tell them to do. No matter how much I re-frame them. So instead of lying in bed wallowing in my self-pity, I decided to get some chores done. While doing them I had the urge to just get in front of the mic and talk. Get it out of my head, so that I can move on. It’s like I keep telling people, I am too busy to be depressed anymore. I have created too many things to keep me moving forward to sit there and paralyze myself with my thoughts. So, I hope you enjoy this early morning Audio Log as it was quickly thrown together while I was getting my chores done. Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL026 || Plateau of Productivity

August 3rd, 2019

Mike and I got together today and had a very productive day in the studio. We started to get into finalizing our infrastructure so that we can maximize both our studios. Now we have the environment set up to start focusing on streamlining production between both our home studios. Then we had some time left over and decide to test out a duel recording set-up for when we get into recording episodes for The Garden of The Mind. It was a great test run that we turned into today’s Audio Log. I hope you enjoy the chat we had about how far we have come and where we are planning to keep on trucking.
