Garden of The Mind: The Audio Logs

Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL025 || Sharks, Alaska and Getting Drunk off Seal Blubber with Kevin

July 29st, 2019

This weekend I had a friend come over who is interested in starting his own podcast. So, I let him check out the studio that I have created for myself and see what his idea was for his podcast. He has worked as a political writer for new papers in Juno, Ak and another one in Arizona. We kinda just recorded the show so I could show him what it takes to make a podcast. I also had my own motives as I have yet to have the opportunity to do a successful recording using my Cubase environment. I had learned a couple of things by reverse engineering an interview that Mike had set up a couple of weeks ago. Which I am doing, not because I feel like Mike is going to bail on me too. More because I have learned in this life that you can only rely on yourself to get shit done. The ones who act like they are in your corner are only there when it is convenient for them, nothing more. I can’t blame them for either as I (and you) do the same thing. So, if you want something to get off your ass and take it. It’s up to you to make it happen. Not even your mother will give a fuck at the end of the day. So, take what you want because no one is giving it away anytime soon. Peace.

Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL024 || Circling Back, Exploring the Darkness

July 26st, 2019

These Logs have begun to transform into something I was expecting. Tonight, I go on another rant and speak to the creativity and where I tend to pull from to create the things I do create. I went back and read my original blog post. Which put into perspective how far I have come with the Garden of The Mind. For inspiration to record I went back and read the first blog post I wrote and put out into the interwebs. It was titled Ploughing the Field and it reminded me of why I began to just start making things. Start making things and stop caring how good they were. Then I wrapped it all up by reading a poem a friend of mine wrote recently to express the emotions she was feeling at the time. Which is how also how a lot of creativity is spawned. We take the negative emotions, the hurt, the pain, the bad and transmute them into positive creations.

AL023 || Lights! Camera! ACTION!

July 21st, 2019

I have been thinking a lot about how creativity is supplemented by three things that tend to get overlooked. I kind of go on a ramble about these three pillars that I have identified for myself to be necessary to show up and be my optimal self. I have learned that when my optimal self is given its opportunity to shine it creates things a lot more smoothly and with less effort. These three things that I am focused on improving right now in my life right now are Structure, Discipline, and Health. Press play and find out how my rambling explains how I personally use them to be able to create more with less.

July 17th, 2019

I had a little fun tonight and you’ll have to excuse my horrible singing on this one, but also, you’re welcome. Hehe, but getting into to The Log notes. This episode I speak to time. It is a non-renewable resource. The only non-renewable resource that every single person gets distributed to them evenly. So how do we get the most of this human experience? We must cultivate the habit of saying No, so that we can say yes to the things that matter most. With that we must clearly define what our Yes is, and why we wan to say yes to it. Tune in and check out what is growing in the Garden because, all in all, I would say it was a productive day for the Garden of The Mind inside Solykos Studios.

AL021 || ICE Raids Area 51 and Kills Keanu Reeves

July 14th, 2019

This episode is about what I am learning in regards to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and the research cause me to rant a little bit. Full discloser: I do not know anything about these subjects other than the fact that it is what is trending night now as of July 14th 2019. But this is my rant on opinion of what could happen if they go unchecked. Not to mention my disappointment that these subjects have started to make Keanu Reeves drop in the “What’s Hot” category. Anyway, I digress, it has been busy in the Garden and out for me as of late. However, I must get my reps in so I hope you enjoy this uneducated rant that I have produce for you and…

All in all, I would say it was a productive day for the Garden of The Mind inside Solykos Studios.

Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL020 || The Lost Children and Lazy Excuses

July 6th, 2019

Today I took a trip down some country roads and found a river. Marley and I had a great time and, on the way, back I listened to Hilltop Hoods newest album. Their song, Fire & Grace really hit home for me when it came on, due to what has been on my mind lately. With that, my elements of water and fire met this afternoon and I blew off a bit of steam. Admittedly, I sound kind of angry here, but I still feel my points are valid. I go on a few rants, about how when you work hard to acquire skills for anything. How most people use complements to discredit your hard work and sacrifices that it took you to gain the skills by saying things, “You’re just a natural, you got blessed with a god-given talent. I could never do that.” Although what they are really doing is giving themselves an excuse to be lazy and not follow their passions. Also, I left in a few things where I was taking my steam out on my studio. Mainly because when I was editing it, I found my stupid outburst hilarious. And with that, I hope you get some kind of take away from this, because this one was mainly, just therapy for ya boy, enjoy.

All in all, I would say it was a productive day for the Garden of The Mind inside Solykos Studios.

Garden of The Mind || The Audio Logs

AL019 || The Human Race

July 4th, 2019

Today, I had the day to myself. With minimal interruptions, I was able to get a lot of things done that I have been planning on completing for some time now. Mainly a blog post that I have working on for a few months now. I started it right before I got my equipment to begin recording for the Garden of The Mind. Which ultimately distracted me from finishing it. However, I able happy for that type of distraction and I believe it turned out better than it would have had I finished it in January when I had planned on completing it. The blog post can be found on my website Solykos dot com on the page titled Sprouts. I called them my sprouts because, once I get a good flow going, I will use them to help grow the Garden of The Mind. Then I finish the holiday by working in my garden outback and record myself reading the story portion of the blog post I finish writing this morning. All in all, I would say it was a productive day for the Garden of The Mind inside Solykos Studios.

AL018 || A Lone Wolf is a Dead Wolf

July 1th 2019

This past Saturday I had a good friend of mine, come over for a nice meal and some whiskey. We decided to setup the Garden of the Mind Lounge for the first time and hit record. I mainly just wanted to test my audio set-up. However, I knew me and Bird would have a great conversation, because we always do. Just two like minded wolves on a journey through the woods we call life. It was a good test; I can already see how I can improve some things for when we get to have these Conversations to Cultivate a Growth Mindset.

AL017 || Persistence and Determination

June 27th 2019

. This week the Log is more about me, and what I have going on in my life. In order to bring the best Self I can to this project I must focus my energy elsewhere at the moment. Which turned this into kind of a rambling Log this week. Hope you enjoy.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” -Calvin Coolidge

AL016 || Clearing the Vision

June 23th 2019

Today I jump in and explain how it has come time to let The Garden be. It will grow a long as fast or slow as it needs too. I can take a detour and concentrate on other aspects of my life that with allow me to focus my skills more on The Garden when the time comes to tend it more thoroughly again. Also, I gain some inspiration from an up and coming Hip Hop artist who goes by the name Chris Webby. I will get to see him and some other amazing artist perform live tonight which always gets me new life.
