Let’s begin with this, a statement that says a great deal, none of it good.

And add this, (early Sunday morning)… Rubio in Greece.

Sec of State Marco Rubio stood at the Pnyx near the Acropolis and invoked ancient Persian invasions of Greece while denouncing Iran’s “radical mullahs” and their “cult of death.” He praised Athens as a “model” NATO ally amid Middle East instability and insisted Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon,” framing the ongoing U.S. conflict—already months of military action without a congressional Declaration of War—as a shared Western necessity. This was classic warmongering: historical analogy weaponized to enlist Greece in an executive-driven war that bypasses Article I of the Constitution. Greece’s real security concerns center on Turkey and the Eastern Mediterranean, not Tehran. Rubio’s speech subordinated Greek interests to Washington’s open-ended campaign, substituting constitutional process with civilizational rhetoric and risking deeper entanglement for a European nation. US/NATO/EU/UKRAINE v RUSSIA

Trump and Putin Friday held a 90-min phone call, according to reports. Here is the latest, from RT “Putin and Trump hold ‘successful’ talks: Key details — RT World News” LINK AND

-Trump is spouting more “Zelensky needs to get to peace” rhetoric, giving people the impression he wants peace, when he could have gotten there in Admin One and anytime since he was shoved back into 1600 Penn Ave in 2025. Recall that in his first term, Trump withdrew the United States from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, formally exiting on August 2, 2019. Trump also supplied Ukraine with arms and assistance, authorizing Javelin anti-tank missiles in 2017. Deliveries of hundreds of these missiles and launchers began in 2018, alongside hundreds of millions in other security assistance for weapons, training, and equipment.

And, again, Ukraine cannot engage in these strikes WITHOUT US aid.

Early Friday morning around 3:19 a.m. near East Dudley Avenue and North Broadway in Fresno, 32-year-old off-duty ICE agent David Gonzalez from Texas allegedly assaulted a 72-year-old homeowner and his daughter after waking up intoxicated on their front lawn. The father, fearing for their safety, shot Gonzalez once in the stomach; the man's daughter had tried to intervene, and her off-duty police officer boyfriend soon handcuffed the agent. Gonzalez remains hospitalized in custody on felony assault charges, while the legally armed father faces no charges; police and federal authorities are investigating.

Saturday, the focus remained on the October 8 ICE shooting of 28-year-old Dominican national Oscar Belgal in Marble Hill near the Bronx, where he was wounded in the neck WHILE DRIVING with his 5-year-old son. A federal judge’s temporary order continues to block his deportation pending a habeas challenge to his detention. LINK

ARIZONA, Tohono O’odham Nation, whose reservation runs along the U.S.-Mexico border. DHS/CBP activity and border wall construction on that tribal land in Arizona sees Trump administration officials leveraging border wall construction as justification for intensified surveillance and aggressive intimidation tactics against the Tohono O’odham Nation. ProPublica reports DHS using drones, helicopters, masked BORTAC agents, and checkpoints on tribal land, including during prayer ceremonies at Tadai Me:i camp, while building a 62-mile wall segment despite tribal lawsuits and opposition. IRAN, and FUEL, and RUSSIA…

Er… This is strange…

See if you can figure out this insanity… This 3 Mil Tons (used for shipping terminology) equals about 22 million barrels. The exact figure depends on the cargo’s measured density.
No price or payment terms have been disclosed in Trump’s announcement or contemporaneous reporting from Reuters, Bloomberg, CNBC, or others that I could find. Market benchmarks around the announcement showed diesel futures near $1,400 per metric ton in Europe and U.S. ultra-low-sulfur diesel near $4.70 per gallon, but those are open-market levels, not the terms of this arrangement. The broader restrictions have not been formally ended.
But how does this jibe with the GRAND MEMORY OF LINDSAY?
On September 18, Trump signed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, which codifies and expands sanctions and authorizes secondary tariffs (up to 100 percent) on major importers of Russian crude or natural gas, with most measures due to take effect around October 18–19 and with explicit presidential waiver authority. YET, yesterday — the same day as the announcement—the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued General License No. 135, authorizing transactions for the sale, delivery, offloading, and importation (including into the United States) of Russian-origin diesel fuel through 12:01 a.m. Eastern time on April 7, 2027. This is a time-limited authorization specific to diesel, not a termination of the overall sanctions framework or the secondary-tariff authorities in the September law, which, of course, they tell us are REALLY important to stop the eeeeevil Russians and Iranians, except when Trump decides it’s politically expedient to wave the sanctions a few weeks prior to elections that will see the GOP tarred and feathered.

Then, there’s this, from yesterday’s News Notes. See if you can make sense of it, again, within the context of what we noted about Lindsay’s LEGACY (wink)… Not that the US didn’t have a hand in the pipeline blast, and not that this plan, to starve Europe of fuel, to even get the Europeans to participate in the Ukraine proxy war and see the European economy dive, not that all of this was not spelled out in a Rand Corp document in 2019.

AGAIN, Hegseth lies. And, even if he were talking truthfully, he would be adding more crimes to his long list of war crimes and unconstitutional aggression…

Lloyd’s List Intelligence reported in late March 2026 that the IRGC had imposed a de facto “toll booth” regime: vessels using a northern corridor near Larak Island submitted ownership, cargo, and crew details to intermediaries, received clearance codes after screening, and in some cases accepted IRGC escorts. At least two vessels paid in yuan; one operator was reported to have paid about $2 million. Subsequent coverage from AP, Bloomberg, Reuters, and shipping outlets described the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), established in May 2026, issuing permits and seeking fees—often cited in the range of up to $1–2 million per transit, sometimes in yuan or cryptocurrency—for “security” or “services.” Preferential or no-fee access was reported for certain government-to-government arrangements (including some India-, Pakistan-, and China-linked traffic).
Not every transit paid a direct cash toll, and the system was not described as fully systematic. A June 2026 U.S.–Iran memorandum temporarily waived fees for a 60-day window and called for free passage discussions, but reporting indicated the arrangement frayed amid continued strikes by the US, and Iranian attacks on vessels using unapproved routes.
U.S. Central Command and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, of course, have stated the opposite: traffic continues, they tell us! Rubio and Trump this week claimed that more oil was going through than had prior to the US attacks in Feb. They claim that the United States maintains a blockade on Iranian ports, has sanctioned entities linked to fee collection (including a cryptocurrency firm tied to an Iranian Hormuz services body), and that the US rejects Iran collecting mandatory tolls as incompatible with free transit through an international strait. (That would be the traffic the US is not supposed to be influencing, but which the US says it controls…)
Gulf states (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE) formally urged ships not to use the Iranian-designated route or engage the PGSA. Independent trackers and analysts describe sharply reduced volumes—some AIS-based estimates put recent commercial crossings at roughly 10 percent of pre-crisis levels, despite US claims.
Kpler’s Michelle Brohard and other market observers have said they suspect some Gulf exporters quietly are paying for safe passage (figures such as 10–20 percent of cargo value have been floated as unverified possibilities), because sustained U.S. escorts may prove costly; these remain suspicions rather than confirmed public ledgers, and payments would risk U.S. sanctions exposure. Under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea framework (which Iran has not ratified), charges solely for passage through an international strait are generally prohibited, while non-discriminatory fees for specific services can be lawful; Iranian officials have described their charges as service or security fees and have advanced domestic legislation to formalize oversight.
The main surreptitious-revenue theory concerns fees extracted from non-Iranian traffic rather than Iran moving its own oil. Michelle Brohard told energy analyst Rory Johnston (reported by OilPrice.com and Baystreet) that she suspects some Gulf producers have quietly arranged payments to Iran for safe passage—possibly on the order of 10–20 percent of cargo value—because sustained U.S. escorts may not be sustainable; she described this as unverified. IG Group’s Chris Beauchamp made a similar observation to Al Jazeera. Hellenic Shipping News, drawing on industry reporting, noted Iranian assessments that the Persian Gulf Strait Authority regime could generate $2–3 billion annually at suppressed transit volumes (or $5–30 million per day from compliant operators, mainly Chinese-linked and gray-fleet vessels paying up to about $2 million per transit in yuan or cryptocurrency), rising higher if volumes recovered. No public source provides a confirmed figure for actual Iranian receipts in the past month; the payments are described as under-the-radar and exposed to U.S. sanctions (OFAC targeted a crypto firm linked to an Iranian Hormuz services body). Academic commentary quoted by Al Jazeera-linked reporting calls a systematic state toll unproven and better characterized as an informal security arrangement… LINK

We have hit on the Ukrainian “clay” with which the US CIA, NATO, ATLANTIC COUNCIL, and UK played, looking at the immediate US influence, via intel, post WWII, and at the Western influence post USSR. This, from Pascal Lottaz, of Neutrality Studies, offers a very good, concise, overview of the attempts, starting in 2021, by Putin et al to end the Kiev attacks on the Donbass while avoiding war. As you will see, it was Western manipulation that prevented peace signings.

• 10-year US Treasury: about 5.25% (quoted near 5.250%, up roughly 0.02 percentage points or +0.4% on the day from a prior close around 5.23%). Intraday range has been roughly 5.21–5.28%.

• 30-year US Treasury: about 5.61% (quoted near 5.607%, essentially flat on the day versus a prior close around 5.61%). Intraday range has been roughly 5.60–5.64%.

Here’s an example of the protectionist mindset. It’s muddied by the presence of US govt funds handed to these schools, but Vance’s statement is an example of the protectionist-central-planner fallacy that embraces the idea that not only can a politician make decisions for you, but that restricting your options to get more for you buck is a good practical thing to do. ICE SHOT ANOTHER MAN, this time, it was last night, in the Bronx. Here are the details:
Despite there being ZERO federal power over immigration, and despite the Gov of NY and Mayor both publicly stating they want ICE out (meaning that even if ICE WERE constitutional, the trigger of Article Four Section Four clearly had not been pulled), ICE agents in NYC’s Marble Hill shot and wounded 28-year-old Oscar Belgal (Dominican national with prior arrests and alleged “gang ties” - an amorphous Play-Doh term the govt uses to tarnish people) during a vehicle stop; his 5-year-old son was unharmed in the backseat, sparking Mamdani’s calls to halt ICE operations and protests. Thousands rallied, and marched to the hospital where Belgal was taken. The fate of his son is unknown at this time.

Marble Hill is legally part of the borough of Manhattan (and New York County), but it sits on the mainland and is physically connected to and surrounded by the Bronx after the Harlem River Ship Canal was built and the old Spuyten Duyvil Creek was filled in. It uses a Bronx ZIP code (10463), Bronx area codes, and is served by Bronx Community District 8 and the NYPD’s 50th Precinct in the Bronx. News reports of the incident frequently describe the location as in or near the Bronx.
In response, Mark-of-the-beast-wayne Mullen offered this obstreperous nonsense at the tax-paid podium. He defended the agents who shot the man while trying to kidnap him; he rejected pauses in enforcement, blamed NYC’s sanctuary policies, labeled Belgal “the worst of the worst,” and said Mamdani’s rhetoric was dangerous and hypocritical amid ongoing immigration enforcement under the Trump administration.

Furthermore, even if Belgal’s criminal record made him “the worst of the worst, as Mullen claims, there would be no federal jurisdiction to invade NY to try to capture him. There was no outstanding warrant on a local level either. I did some searching, and Oscar Belgal had one known felony conviction and a separate set of pending felony drug charges before the October 8, 2026, shooting, according to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and court records reported by the New York Daily News.He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny stemming from a 2023 robbery arrest and was sentenced to five years’ probation (the sentence was imposed around April 2025). In New York, grand larceny in the fourth degree is a Class E felony.In December 2025 he was indicted on one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree and nine counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. Those charges arose from sales of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine to an undercover detective on multiple occasions between January and August 2025. He was released on supervised release, pleaded not guilty, and the case remained pending. Second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance is a Class A-II felony; third-degree is a Class B felony.DHS has additionally alleged prior arrests (not confirmed convictions) for assault, robbery, drug possession, and weapons possession, plus claimed ties to the Trinitarios gang and possible links to an earlier shooting of a CBP officer. Local officials have publicly confirmed only the grand larceny conviction and the pending drug indictment.
The aggressors last night came from ICE, could have killed this man AND his child… and MAGA members are applauding ICE?

Shlomi Eldar and Ruth Yuval (Israeli journalists) note in their book “Hostages: 843 Days of Abandonment,” excerpts of which Haaretz published on 8 September 2026, that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed called Netanyahu about ten days before 7 October and warned that Yahya Sinwar was planning a major operation that could cause bloodshed and regional instability. IDF MURDERS JOURNALISTS, CLAIMS THEY WERE TERRORISTS

The IDF’s “Press Files” release does not prove the 170 were militants. Drop Site News calls the release a post-hoc propaganda effort linked to a unit that seeks justifications after killings, noting that a document used against Ismail al-Ghoul was revised from a date when he was a child. Analyst Muhammad Shehada, cited across pro-Palestine outlets, reviewed the entries and found 59 pages blank or limited to “based on multiple intelligence sources,” and 42 offering only undated, decontextualized snippets. Antiwar.com similarly notes that visual or organizational claims appear for only a minority. These sources contend the list substitutes assertion for independently verifiable evidence of militant status. There is no single verified count of self-identified professional reporters killed by the IDF since 7 October 2023. The published totals depend on who is counted as a journalist and whether dual militant status is treated as disqualifying. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) is the source most often cited for the high figures. After a review published on 24 September 2026 of 229 deaths between October 2023 and August 2026., CPJ removed 22 people who did not meet its definition, reinstated six, and reclassified 12. Its running database around that period listed on the order of 189 Palestinian journalists and media workers killed in Gaza and attributed to Israeli forces, inside a broader total of roughly 240 journalists it says Israeli forces killed across Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and related strikes. CPJ’s definition covers journalists and media workers; it says it excludes people engaging in combat, and it relies heavily on published work, social media, and local sources because Israel has barred independent foreign press access to Gaza. CPJ has separately classified a smaller subset—dozens, not the full list—as deliberate targeted killings.

Antiwar.com, drawing on TASS, reported that Moscow vowed to intensify strikes on military sites and related infrastructure after Zelensky stated Ukraine would double down on attacks against Russian oil facilities and claimed Russia plans to drive civilians from major cities. THE BRAZIL PRES ELECTION AND BAZIL’S FUTURE IN BRICS v. LEANING TOWARDS US MANIPULATORS…

Two days before Brazil’s October 4 first round, the CIA already knew Flávio Bolsonaro was ahead, geopolitical analyst Pepe Escobar told RT on October 5, even while Brazilian opinion polls still showed incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva leading. Escobar, speaking after Bolsonaro finished ahead of Lula and both fell short of an outright majority, called the discrepancy part of longer U.S. involvement. He said the CIA had spent “decades” funding efforts to cultivate Brazil’s evangelical churches, now about 27 percent of the population, up from 15 percent in 2000, and that this was “paying off.” He added that “the Americans put a lot of money in this election” and urged a federal investigation. Antiwar.com has previously reported CIA contact with Bolsonaro governments, including a 2022 warning from Director William Burns against casting doubt on the voting system and Bolsonaro’s 2019 visit to CIA headquarters. Escobar said a Bolsonaro win would reverse Brazil toward Washington. This is something Washington wants, and will try to link to the new US control over VZ, as the US creates its own problems with China on trade and China threatens to stop sales of rare earth minerals to the US. Here is some background on the Brazilian political movement of the young Bolsonaro, which, Pepe mentions a bit earlier, also is linked to a major movement to push out Catholicism and replace it with evangelical Christianity (which can be leveraged in favor of Israel). THE BRAZIL-CHINA-US RARE EARTH SITUATION

Brazil’s rare-earth reserves—about 21 million metric tons, or 23.1 percent of the world total and second only to China—have become a central issue in the 2026 race between Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro, RT reported. A March 2026 document titled “Prosperity Partnership,” carrying Flávio Bolsonaro’s seal and drafted by ally André Marinho, describes an alliance with the United States to exploit critical minerals if he wins. It calls for faster mining legislation, Western (especially American) capital, and a role for Brazil as a leading non-Chinese supplier and Western Hemisphere processing hub tied to U.S. defense, energy, and artificial-intelligence chains. At CPAC, Flávio said Brazil is Washington’s answer to dependence on China for rare earths. Democracy Now, covering the October 4 first round in which Flávio led 47 percent to Lula’s 45 percent ahead of an October 25 runoff, quoted an analyst saying Bolsonaro has stated openly that victory would dedicate Brazil’s rare earths and other resources to U.S. interests. Lula has answered, RT noted, that Flávio is “Trump’s candidate” prepared to hand national wealth to the United States. TASS and RT also reported Lula’s attack on the $2.8 billion sale of Serra Verde to USA Rare Earth and a U.S. Development Finance Corporation loan of about $465 million for the Pela Ema project—already channeling American money into Brazilian heavy rare earths. Democracy Now in 2022 recorded that BlackRock, Vanguard, and Capital Group had provided nearly $15 billion to mining firms active in the Brazilian Amazon that rights groups linked to Indigenous-rights problems. None of these outlets reports that BlackRock has locked in, or is contracted for, equity in Brazilian rare-earth deposits if Bolsonaro wins. The policy course they describe—accelerated rules and preferential entry for Western capital—nonetheless sets out the opening through which large U.S. asset managers already financing Brazilian mining could widen their exposure.
Donald Trump repeatedly has tied tariff threats to Chinese rare-earth controls. RT reported that China, which accounts for over 90 percent of global rare-earth refining and 98 percent of magnet output, imposed export controls in April on elements used in military applications and later tightened licensing and extraterritorial rules affecting U.S. defense and semiconductor supply. Trump called the relationship “effectively in a trade war” and threatened an additional 100 percent tariff on Chinese goods starting in November, while officials worked on a framework that might avert the hike before a meeting with Xi Jinping. China vowed to “fight to the end.”
TASS recorded that after Beijing published its coming tighter rare-earth export rules, Trump said that the United States would impose an extra 100 percent tariff plus software export controls from November 1, and warned of limits on other goods, chiefly aircraft parts. He later wrote that China had agreed to continue the flow of rare earths, critical minerals, and magnets “openly and freely.” Sputnik quoted Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent saying Washington secured a one-year pause on controls that would have covered products containing even 0.01 percent Chinese rare earths. RT separately noted a June understanding under which China would resume shipments and the United States would lift countermeasures, after earlier tariff spikes had reached 145 percent on the U.S. side.

THE COURTS - AI RECREATIONS OF VICTIMS, DEATH PENALTY

The question of all state-based “justice” emerges, because, as we know, many opponents of the death penalty oppose it because they don’t want the state to mistakenly take an innocent life. But armed police can and do kill more innocent people each year, without trial before peers. If one opposes the death penalty on principled grounds, the same opposition should be posed against the govt-police system. More fundamentally, it is not moral to force someone to pay for anything, and forcing someone to pay for the taking of a life, even after a “court process” is vile. HASSETT Can’t stop lying.

Let’s get some things straight. Kevin Hassett’s second claim in that clip refers to the initial August 2026 nonfarm payrolls report, released September 4, not the later revised figures. The Bureau of Labor Statistics first reported a gain of 162,000 jobs. Contemporary surveys put the consensus forecast in the mid-50,000s to mid-60,000s range (Bloomberg survey median around 55,000; Reuters around 56,000; FactSet median 65,000). The actual print was therefore roughly 2.5–3 times the typical forecast, consistent with descriptions of it as “more than double” or nearly triple expectations. Bloomberg’s own coverage stated that the 162,000 figure topped all estimates in its survey of economists. Hassett, speaking the same day, said 77 forecasters on Bloomberg had submitted estimates, that the result was above every one of them, and that it was four standard deviations above their average. Reuters reported the range of estimates it collected ran from a loss of 25,000 to a gain of 121,000, so 162,000 also cleared the high end of that survey. Multiple outlets (CNN, Reuters, CNBC) described the initial reading as a clear upside surprise and a rebound from July’s weak print. The September report, released October 2, revised August downward from 162,000 to 133,000 (and July from +21,000 to –10,000), for a combined downward revision of 60,000. Hassett’s statements about beating the Bloomberg survey and substantially exceeding the consensus therefore tracked the initial data and contemporaneous reporting; the later revision reduced the margin.

And let’s be sure here to bring back the news from last week that on October 1, the Supreme Court agreed to review the Trump administration’s policy of mandatory detention without bond for noncitizens who entered years earlier and built lives here. The Trump Department of Homeland Security’s July 2025 reinterpretation of a 1996 statute treats long-settled residents as “applicants for admission,” denying the bond hearings that prior administrations allowed when people posed no flight risk or danger. Solicitor General D. John Sauer has urged the Court to uphold the practice so that detention “prevents those aliens from evading hearings and helps ensure their removal.” More than 500 district judges have already rejected the rule. Indefinite civil confinement without an individualized hearing collides with the Fifth Amendment’s due-process protection of liberty, especially for parents of U.S.-citizen children. That same day, U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel entered final judgment striking down Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s policy of arresting people at or near immigration courthouses nationwide. In African Communities Together v. Lyons, the court held the practice arbitrary and capricious under the Administrative Procedure Act after the government offered no reasoned justification and appeared to leave agents with “unfettered discretion.” The order restores earlier limits that confined such arrests to narrow circumstances and takes effect immediately. Courthouse arrests punish the very act of appearing to defend one’s case, chilling access to the immigration courts the Constitution’s due-process clause requires the government to keep open. People complying with summonses should not be seized in hallways for civil violations. LINK

Separately, advocates reported this week that the administration has choked off funding for counsel for unaccompanied migrant children, allowing the Acacia Center for Justice contract to lapse in July 2026 after providers refused demands for confidential client data. Despite a prior court order preserving services required by the 2008 Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, payments stopped and a smaller, less experienced substitute was left to cover hearings. Reports describe children, including very young ones, facing removal proceedings with no lawyer. The Fifth Amendment’s due-process guarantee and basic fairness under the Constitution demand that vulnerable minors not be forced to navigate complex removal law alone against a trained government prosecutor.
