As we dig into 1 Corinthians 6, we begin to see that the ways we think about sex and our bodies is vitally important. In spite of societal norms and popular opinions on the subject of sex, scripture outlines the spiritual union of the believer to Christ. For this reason, Paul urges Christians to honour God with their bodies (v. 20).

The bodily resurrection of Jesus is good news for the Christian. Why? Because in the resurrection of Christ we have the firstfruits of the redemption of creation. Because Jesus' body was raised, it means that our bodies will be raised as well.

When we consider some of the challenging topics in our day relating to human sexuality, the differences of opinion we encounter can be perplexing and even troubling. But as we learn about the concept of a worldview, we can also gain understanding about people who are different from us, and how to lovingly point them to Jesus.

In Mark 12, Jesus criticized the Pharisees for exalting themselves over people at the fringes of society. As we begin our Human Sexuality & the Bible series, here we see the biblical call to love people where they are and point them to new life in Christ.

In the midst of discussion about morality and discipline in the church, Paul reminds the people of God that our purpose is to influence our world. We are not to isolate from it, nor are we to war against it.

In this message, we explore what Paul meant when he said that believers in Christ had received the Holy Spirit, "so that we may *understand* what God has freely given us" (1 Corinthians 2:12, NIV). Understanding, discernment and wisdom—these things only come truly and fully through the Holy Spirit, and not through the "spirit of the world."
