  • GTBH 9/27/26: A -30- on '26

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The 2026 season came to a close for St. Louis today, though Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) suggest the end came much earlier.  They talk about Jordan Walker's second half and if there are any concerns there, Alec Burleson's steadiness and what that might mean for a contract extension, how Ivan Herrera fits in this puzzle, and what Chaim Bloom might talk about tomorrow in the press conference.  A lot of ground to cover so jump right in!

  • GTBH 9/20/26: Closing Down Busch For the Year

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Cards wrapped up the home portion of the 2026 season this afternoon, something that still is hard for Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) to believe.  Where did this season go and should it be considered a successful one?  What should people remember about 2026?  What excitement is going to carry over to 2027?  And will the team ever consider moving the walls in?  All that and more!

  • GTBH 9/13/26: Bullpen, Bernal, and Battles

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  It was a tough week for the Cardinals bullpen, but Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) have no real answers but "wait it out" since the season is almost over.  Will Riley O'Brien be the closer next year?  Who should get a shot in the last two weeks?  Leo Bernal has taken the catcher position by storm.  What does that mean for everyone else?  Plus talk about the upcoming CBA battles and the Cardinals HOF ceremonies.  Give it a listen!

  • GTBH 9/6/26: Hjumping for Hjerpe

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  It was truly a busy week for the club, with players coming up and going down, games being won and lost in dramatic fashion, and becoming the right side of a national controversy.  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) go over it all, from the dramatic debut of Cooper Hjerpe to the steady reliability of Leo Bernal.  What does all of this mean for the '27 roster?  Can the club finish over .500?  And how much grace do you give Doug Eddings?  All that and much more in this week's show!

  • GTBH 8/30/26: What If We Made the Whole Show Out of Catchers?

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  Somehow no broadcasters were harmed in the making of this podcast, which is not something the team can say about their players seemingly every game.  The IL is filling up and some of the replacements, like Nolan Gorman, have been underwhelming.  Occasionally, though, you get a Quinn Mathews or, apparently, a Leo Bernal.  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) talk about the rumored promotion and how it would work on the team.  They also discuss what September might look like for this team and when there might be an exciting lineup again.  Come join us!

  • GTBH 8/16/26: The Baez Trilogy

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) brings you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  There's really just one topic this week and you can guess what it is.  Joshua Baez burst onto the MLB scene in historical ways and Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) spend a lot of time marveling at his success.  How many home runs will he hit the rest of the way?  Why did the Cardinals bring him up now and how will they use him going forward?  Plus there's talk about the heating up offense and the general improved run of the club.  Give it a listen!

  • GTBH 8/9/26: A Burly Good Week for the Cardinals

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  The Cards came out of the trade deadline gate firing on most cylinders, winning series against the Yankees and the Rockies.  Is that enough to get the playoffs hopes firing again?  Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) debate that topic and if they are willing to get hurt again.  The guys also talk about Alec Burleson's role in the Cardinals future, wondering if he's a core player.  They are pretty sure Matthew Liberatore is not one, but what does the future hold for him?  Then they gush on the minors a bit and deal with a hard question.  Come join us!

  • GTBH 8/3/26: The Trade Deadline Blooms

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  While the Cards are playing the Yankees (but before the big offensive explosion), Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) get together to ignore all that and focus on the chaos that was the MLB trade deadline.  Some players didn't get moved (Ryne Stanek, which caused angst before the show was done, and any catcher) but otherwise the departures were as expected.  The returns were incredible, though, as Chaim Bloom continues to show that he not only has an amazing eye for talent but he's able to do what it takes to acquire it.  Where do the new guys rank and how will they fit in?  The guys tackle that as best they can as they salute those that left and get excited about the new.  Way to go, Chaim!

  • GTBH 7/26/26: Searching For Rock Bottom (w/Kyle Reis)

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  With David (@iPopEditor) out of pocket, Daniel (@C70) brings in Kyle Reis (@kyler416) of prospect fame with the express verbal intent of NOT rehashing the draft or the minor leagues.  How well did that work?  The guys talk over the recent struggles of the Cardinals and where the energy has gone with this team.  There's also discussions of Jimmy Crooks, Kyle Leahy, and Matt Svanson as well as the upcoming trade deadline.  Then they go down a side road and touch on the Marvel news coming out of Comic-Con and Star Wars in general.  Come give it a listen!

  • GTBH 7/19/26: Still Feeling Drafty (w/Carlos Collazo)

Every week, two of the Best Fans in Baseball (TM) bring you all the news and analysis you need about the St. Louis Cardinals.  This week, Daniel (@C70) and David (@iPopEditor) put the most recent Cardinals meltdown aside to get some expert insight on the draft from Baseball America writer Carlos Collazo (@CarlosACollazo).  The guys ask Carlos questions not only about what he liked about the St. Louis draft but how BA goes about putting together their boards.  We're talking Trevor Condon, Tegan Kuhns, and more, including how the draft has changed over the past few years and what the new CBA proposals might do to it in the future.
