Geek Fanthology

Humans and Monsters!

There are many games/movies/television shows that are magical on your first interaction with them that lose something in the replay. One question that goes around the internet from time to time is “What (insert media here) would you most want to be able to forget everything about and redo for a first time.” Luckily for us there’s 3 regular members of the Geek Fanthology Crew and not all of us have done all the things that everyone else has done. We have decided to, from time to time, have one of us play curator to the others’ experience of a thing and we present the first such outing to you now. Neil recommended Undertale and we’re going to talk about that today. Also featured, our Signal Boost and the Spoiler of the week.

Misties and others!

We find ourselves in the Not Too Distant Future, that MST3K envisioned. When people make fun of bad movies for fun and profit. We shall reminisce on the cultural icon that it was and its effect on current internet culture.

Jedi and Sith!

After a couple scheduling issues we finally got together to record an episode about Star Wars Episode IX and for good measure we also discuss The Mandalorian. The episode has unmarked spoilers for both so beware. We also are unveiling our newest feature, Signal Boost. Which is essentially just us replacing the “Week in Geek” because we’re no longer weekly. Also exciting updates to how you can consume this show. All that plus the Spoiler of the Week.

We weren’t able to get together for a full episode this week. Instead of a Top 10 though Neil thought he’d take this opportunity to give brief reviews of 4 movies that likely won’t get full reviews because we can’t do as many of those as we used to. We also want to take this chance to mention our Youtube page www.youtube.com/workingtheoryproductions where small form video format reviews will be going up in place of them going on our facebook page, so if you like this sort of content Neil will be putting up similar content with his face on them talking to you the viewer there. Also our full shows go there too if you just like your podcast content on Youtube.

WE’RE BACK EVERYONE!!!

After our yearly winter holiday hiatus we are back with avengence. We’ve got a slightly different format, (we’re not ending the spoiler of the week we just forgot to do it this time) and we’re also in a new year. As we are want to do we decided to spend this episode looking back at the previous year in amalgam and also make some predictions for the coming year. We also have some great announcements coming for 2020 but not in this episode #teaser

Greetings Sports Fans!

It may come as a shock to you all but we do in fact have interests that are non-typical geek fare. This episode Neil and Ben got together to discuss some of theirs. Also this is the last episode of Season 4 and of 2019. We would like to thank you all for a great year, wish you a happy remainder of your winter holiday season and say we’ll see you again in 2020.

As Promised here’s Neil’s thoughts on Showa Era Godzilla Enemies post the Halloween rewatch of all the movies. This episode is a little on the shorter side as most top 10s but moreso due to heavy workload and stress around the holidays. We apologize if you don’t get as much of a fix as you might want.

Oh… Hey, how’s it going…

Today we talk about pieces of media that failed to live up to the hype. Games/Movies/What-have-you. We’re also re-evaluating our “News” segment as basically because we record these so far in advance the news upon which we report is out of date. We’re still examining how we’re gonna be doing this in the future.

Today, we present to you the second part of our very first official two part episode! In this two-parter we’re going to discuss the first 15 films of the Godzilla Franchise also known as the “Showa Period” of the films. In this part we start with the last 8. There will be unmarked spoilers for Godzilla movies that are at youngest 34 years old but if you care about that sort of thing here’s your warning.
