Gen X Is Pissed

"I don’t have any answers, I only have questions these days… and I hope that at least more people are starting to question what they are seeing in the news. I hope people see propaganda and recognize it for what it is. Maybe we’re all victims of confirmation bias now. I really try not to fall into that trap. I try very hard to read alternate viewpoints and give credit where credit is due… but man, I just can’t adequately explain the avalanche of lies that are revealed once you start doing some verification. And once you see how bad it is, and how blatant it is and how prevalent it is… it’s really hard not to wonder why. I’m glad that I found my way out of that trench, and that I realized it before it was too late. It’s hard to accept that you have been tricked. There is a certain amount of ego involved in believing what we believe, right? Nobody wants to be wrong. Nobody wants to believe that they were manipulated. It’s a tough pill to swallow. I was tricked. I believed what I heard and didn’t question it until the claims became SO outrageous and the information so contradictory that I was forced to do the work myself.

How many people are still just going about their lives, seeing these random headlines pass across their periphery, barely thinking about it but filing it away like “Man, the president really is an asshole.” as they head to the grocery store. Even worse, how many people are literally living in terror because they think that President Trump is the biggest threat to peace and freedom that the world has ever seen? It’s a tragedy, this whole damn mess."
