STORMS
How do you overcome adversity?
Do you focus on the obstacles dwelling, or do you take them head on, do what it takes and get through it.
Rory Vaden in take the stairs uses the visual and story of buffaloes. When a storm is coming, the buffaloes do not run away from it. They don’t take cover and wait it out. They run at the storm and by running at the storm, they run straight through it, minimizing the amount of pain, time, and frustration they experience from that storm.
We ALL will have storms. It’s how you choose to respond to them that determines the outcomes.
Don’t run from, you can’t get away from life’s challenges. So embrace them, head on.
It can be scary to face challenges head on, we don’t like change. Humans crave routine, structure and comfortability.
The only thing certain in life is change, so instead of running from it embrace it.
Change is not a negative thing. It’s a gift. It is opportunity to grow, to redirect to try new things and succeed at them in a different way.
I used to hate change and now I love it.
When change is coming I know that means I am evolving and I will get through whatever level of discomfort is there and continue to press forward through the “storms” life presents me.
I know that when life hands me a “storm” that God is saying to me this is happening or me, not happening to me and I will learn a great deal once it passes. I will see just how much I am capable of.
Even storms don’t last forever.
Don’t wait it out, charge them head on, get through them.
