An ever-increasing posture of gratitude is a sign of healthy spiritual maturity. But how do we make it more than just a good feeling or a positive attitude? In this teaching we look at the very practical way gratitude manifests itself in bringing God’s kingdom influence to the world.

There have been many books written about the spiritual practice of fasting. However, fasting is actually pretty simple: giving up something to spend time to pray. Through this sermon we discuss the difference between Old Testament fasting and New Testament fasting and invite you to think about going through a season where you practice New Testament fasting.

What do we do when life becomes so challenging that it nearly takes our breath away and leaves us staggering? Sometimes the only way forward is to rely on a “breathing buddy.” In this message we see how God has privileged us to serve each other in ways that bring restoration and refreshment at just the right time.

Holding our breath is difficult because we are stopping ourselves from releasing what our body naturally desires to release. However many people are constantly holding their spiritual breath because they refuse to release confession and forgiveness. Through this sermon we discover that when we confess and when we forgive we are able to receive more of the life of Christ.

God gives His people a gift called the Sabbath. But it’s not often a gift we think is relevant or all that desirable. Rest? With all we have going on? With the myriad of demands we have thrown our way? Is it even possible or practical to rest by practicing sabbath? Yes, it’s both possible and available, once we learn the context around it and the ways it shapes us to learn to trust and rest in the Lord.

In a noisy, chaotic world it is hard to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. However, as Jesus discovered, it is important to take time in our lives to withdraw to a place of silence and solitude to allow God to fill us with his life.
