As we start our Breathe series we focus on how from an early age Jesus learned the practice of discussing and conversing with others about scripture and the Kingdom of God. We will learn the need for this practice in our weekly lives and discover how talking scripture can bring a fullness of God to our beings.

What do we when we experience doubts when it comes to issues of faith? Looking at the life of Thomas, we’ll see how his doubts actually fueled him to following Christ further - and how our doubts can do the same for us. Despite our doubts, God, in his grace for us, still seeks to partner with us. And that is good news!

Who do you say that I am? With this question Jesus requires his followers to do two things: They must first examine their understanding of his person and purpose. And secondly, they must evaluate the nature of their relationship with him based on their conclusion. This is a challenge to us today concerning our commitment to him and his mission.

Throughout his ministry, Jesus asked lots of questions of those who followed him. This teaching style challenged the people to move forward in faith beyond their preconceived religious ideas and easy answers. In this message, we hear Jesus ask the most basic question of all – the question of motive: What do you want?

Being a follower of Jesus means understanding your role. You are a manager of all God has given you, not an owner. Using the book of Haggai we are challenged to use what God has given us to help build a place for God to dwell in our lives.
